personally i dont know why yall, in a world of fantasy why be "something normal"
One of the things I liked about Warhammer is the contrast between places like the Empire, and places like the Chaos Wastes. The Empire is a pretty low fantasy place most of the time: magic happens, but rarely, and most people are dirt farmers, or work in a guild, or what have you. Then, occasionally, super bad crazy **** happens when Chaos descends from the North, or the goat people that live in the nearby trees decide to eat your wife, screw your cattle, and crap on your front lawn.

So the relatively normal look of the knights, or the halberdiers, or such, looks pretty cool IMO. I also think historically accurate weapons and armor look really badass, much more so than the overblown fantasy schlock you get in most MMOs, where the weapons look like pieces of badly-made furniture rather than something you'd kill a man with. Chaos gets a pass, obviously, because they look awesomer than other, lamer fantasy attempts at the same thing :p

I don't know about the "looks" of the classes.

I do remember something from live that explains the order rdps/healer bias.
In live in T1, there was a massive destro camp right outside the order warcamp in empire.
So basically the average order player logged in for the first time, built his character and then died heroically and repeatedly in empire T1..... It seemed the only "fun" way to get renown in T1 was to play a ranged DpS or healer.......

Just my take on it. But I remember that's why I rolled my first ranged DpS .

But folks should get over it. Empire T1 Zerg tides come and go on RoR. (Damned dirty cross realmers)
So once I get my RP into T3 (in my mind where the fun starts) I'll likely role a slayer into T3.

Kotbs do have some of the most realistic looking armour in the game. Often i like that. But not in this case.
They have taken inspiration from a Renaissance knight. Trying to keep some realism to it's look. but then gone way overboard in some aspects making them have some of the most unrealistic looking armor pieces out of all classes

its that mix of realistic lookign gear combined with some gear for example some helmets that is so stupid they would be impossible to use in real life. they would be a danger to you just wearing them.

If they had kept the armor more realistic and simple i would have liked them better. But as it is now the insane unrealism they have on some gear and the realism on some brings together not the best of two worlds but the worst of two words.

I just can't stand them, probably the most ridicolously looking career in the whole game.

This is just a personal opinion. so i am sure many does not agree with me on this

When the game was being hyped before release, the game had the feeling that Destruction was going to be massive in number compared to Order. Destro was cooler, more intriguing, more unique looking. The whole call to war online event preceding the opening showed order being overwhelmed. So the devs made a conscious decision to favor Order to help make up for that balance.

This is why so many of order's good abilities come frontloaded at earlier levels and work in better harmony with their fellows. From a roleplayer perspective it makes sense. But what the devs didn't count on was that many of those who came to the game weren't roleplayers, they were rvr fanatics from other games and didn't care what classes looked the coolest, they wanted to play the best classes and group makeups. So once player figured out that bws didn't indeed suck, that they learned what a detaunt was, that they were allowed to move and cast, it was game over. From about 1.5 months on, pretty much every server became Order dominated. Not one, not 2, pretty much every server.

And thus began the cycle of Order dominates until people quit or rerolled to another side/joined order, the populations even out for a time, then Order plays their toons again, dominates, then the serves dies. I could give you a detailed list of the changes made that totally unbalanced the game in order's favor, including fixes that were way, way, way too slow in the coming (rain of fire stacking for instance, co-efficients on bw spells being wrong and doing way more damage than intended, witch elves being nuked into oblivion for being too powerful and then giving all their abilities and more to WHs, etc, etc).

Like what the devs are doing and the hard work they are putting into the game, but let's hope history doesn't repeat itself, as we only have one server this time and if it fails there is nothing left to reroll to :/

And someone should lock this thread right here.

It's been a good discussion. I've enjoyed it. And I pretty much agree 1-aesthetics are worth it (by the way I love the feel and play of the dwarf classes), 2- no one is OP beyond minor tweaks, 3- KotBS look cool!! 3- our devs (God bless there charitable hearts) are working hard to keep the game balanced and fun to play.

For looks nothing beats witch elves, as we have the best hair! What's the point in killing people if you don't look good doing it? :)

... dess is not op, just play together and not solo, so you win most fights... of course, even in sc - funnily enough.

why lock it? I'ts just a fun thread. no one is angry, no one bashen other people. they are just kinda chatting about things

I do agree on the dwarfs, few games have made dwarfs as good as warhammer. wow for an example all the swarfs there looks like Gimli on steriods. War's dwarfs looks like dwarfs :)

also agree on the Op thing. some belive some classes ae Op. and well some are a little better than others, but just as i said only little, no game breaking, every class is working well

But i do not agree on Kotbs looking cool. its the worst looking class in the game. but thats my opinion and whats cool is pretty objective so to say :)
