You are pretty much a turret to do that kind of dmg. While a bw or sorc can do it every 10s stationary for 2gcd.

Wrong. Sorc /Bw cannot do it in two GCD.

Bw: Ignite -> SB -> BB -> PS -> Sear -> Nova -> WH

Sorc: CW -> VoT -> WoP -> AB -> GB -> ID -> HoR

First three spells in the rotation can be cast on the move however AB /PS & GB / Sear require the caster to stand still for 3 seconds.

Total thats 7 GCDs per rotation. 5/6 against squishies if they aren't smart and have really low wounds count.

Compartively, Melee will burst straight through a Sorc / Bw in 3-5 GCDs if* / when they catch them.

* The if is there for the select view Sorcs / Bws who know how to effectively prekite and minimize the effect of Pull / Champs Challenge ect. It's harder for a Sorc to prekite compared to Bw because of RKD threats at the same time.

5k dmg in 1 sec on a single target is rly not enoug

fail to factor in how many things you need to get that damage (5k is a bit much with current gear, so not sure where you're getting those figures):

* 20% damage buff from pet (5 seconds having been stationary);
* to be in range of the target to get Surge of Insanity off (a lot of the time targets will be out of 88ft);
* target must be both spirit and ele debuffed;
* you have to be stationary the whole time while doing this. in a fast-paced environment, e.g. most PvP, it is very hard to get the rotation off seamlessly (I play a Havoc magus exclusively and it is very hard to keep up with a good sorc/squig herder).

A very similar line of argument was used to defend Festering Arrow one-shorting. Not saying they can be compared like apples and apples, but either 5k damage in 1s or Fester Bombing or both hard to justify. Magus perhaps needs some love, but most definitely not in the ST department.

I'd say "one shoting" implies one hit making a KB

Examples
"Griffin guard hit you for 30000".
"Festering arrow hit you for 9k"

Please provide us with some evidence of a Magus killing someone with ONE hit

Don't look at me as I can't provide any evidence of one-shotting pukes nor of doing 8-10k damage in 2s on a RR100 full offensive single target specced fully decked Magus.
But I'm a terribad noob and me know nothing about thar Magus.

Also, I'm NOT looking forward for any kind of balance the Magus thread in the future.

People need to step out of the hyperbole. It's laughable. People like to cry wolf on the forum about one-shorting, rather than looking at themselves and bettering their own playing style. It's stupid. This applies to both sides.

I have already seen a laughable thread on how a WL could "one-shot" people, then it became in 3-5 GCD, then it became how it was possible on Live, then people claimed to have videos, yet they never materialised. And now the magus. What a joke. Even the Fester one technically wasn't a one-shot as it it required a rotation that just happened to all land in the same GCD.

If one more person claims that a class can "one shot", they should either provide clear video evidence or as a community we should stamp out their stupidity. Class balancing should be done in a fair, neutral and unbiased way. People that cry wolf and are only interested in either furthering their own class or side - and even worse, do so on the basis of unfounded "evidence" - have no part to play in this.

u can kill someone with a rotation y but many chars can do that .

ppl that never play magus think they dont have st dmg y of course but its not true and thats fakt .
