If I were you I'd pipe down real fast.Gorwe wrote:I agree with Kel...even suggesting leaving is a NO for a GM / mod!
Unless, you are doing all of this for a select few people, hm?

You my good sir, need to learn a thing about public speaking. You are just alienating potential players. And if you don't care about how you come across? ...maybe you shouldn't be a GM then. There are requirements you know...public relations aren't for everyone, yknow?wargrimnir wrote:If you really think we're going to coddle you and make you feel better in a thread based on whine, you've got another thing coming. This is how you should've said this:
"Yes, my bad for coming out wrong. Your comment has been heard and noted(we take the comments of our players VERY SERIOUSLY). If we receive enough similar comments, we will expedite the work on this particular segment of a game. And as always:
Have fun!"
But something tells me you will not understand what I did there(or won't care bout it, the same). And, it's my understanding that a scant few players even care about development schedules etc. They only care when they can play, when they can't play and what they can / can't play.

I don't take kindly to threats tyvm! Or orders for that matter.magicthighs wrote:If I were you I'd pipe down real fast.Gorwe wrote:I agree with Kel...even suggesting leaving is a NO for a GM / mod!

And it is in your best interest not to anger me because I can spread bad words fast. Therefore alienating whomever might even think of joining.
edit: when did this place become so...authoritarian? I remember it being much less so a year ago(and even less so before it)...

Not the first, nor last time, we will deal with a player like this. Clearly this is an alt account, created long ago, and now used for trolling the forums. If you want to have a shitty opinion about how beholden we are to the playerbase, feel free to bring your main.

Re: Lower Tier RVR
Firstly, feel free to spread all the publicity you want. The first thing people think when seeing vitriolic rants out of context about a game they might play is: What's this guy's motive? Is he salty? Can I trust him? So no, I'm not actually worried about your "bad publicity", and I'd also like to point out that we're not even courting publicity or players at the moment because we're still in alpha state and expect the vast majority of potential players to be unwilling to tolerate the state of the server.Gorwe wrote:I don't take kindly to threats tyvm! Secondly - if you can't or won't respect staff instructions - you will be removed. The policy of this staff with regard to threats and other wilful behaviour is very simple; we will ignore any attempts to influence us, no matter the cost. We will always, always apply the appropriate sanction, no matter who you are and no matter what the cost of doing so may be to us.
Thirdly - GMs are not PR. They're there to provide assistance with game issues outside of the forum / Advice chat scope and to enforce server rules, so don't bother lecturing them about PR - because it's not their role to care.
Fourth, and this is highly personal:
You are nothing special.
You are one individual opinionated player. Nothing more than that. A loud voice doesn't change this fact. If this place isn't right for you, you can quite happily go and you will not be missed, because while losing good, respectful members of the community is a tragedy and I hope no one thinks otherwise, losing the whiny ones is a mercy. You are not in charge here, and you do not get to decide whether orders apply to you or not. They do. Lose the disgusting arrogance, because you have no justification whatsoever for holding it.

Creating a post of an eel. This is your everyday 'Hey, make this guy feel comfortable, without saying anything special, nor granting him any right to take any action. Just make him feel allmighty, since he - convinced - us.'
You want to be talked to like that? I'd rather know, GMs and Devs are real ppl, instead of answer-bots that will always try to minimize infos, while comforting me and my pride.
