Ruin Gear. How to get it now?

Ok, first off let me say I completely understand and agree with the new changes to the system from the one that T4 release started out with. Preventing afk'ers and the fix since to help healers/tanks. It's a great step and it seems to be working.

That being said, however...

The only PQ that seems to remain "working" is the one in Praag. The one in Dragonwake seems to be bugged out more often than it's running. So, go do the one in Praag I hear you say. Ah, there's the problem.

Since the bag drop change, the only guaranteed gold bag drop is from a "Hard" PQ. The one in Praag is only normal. I've been in there several times now with around 20 people on the roll scoreboard, and only purple bags drop. The result of this is that people have, for the main part, stopped going, and therefore we can't get enough numbers in there to create the possibility of a gold random bag. The Ruin loot pieces only drop from Gold, and therefore no one is interested in getting purples or lower, the rewards from those is non existant, the purple growbag is useless and the gold amount is frankly insulting.

So, if the only Hard PQ is the Dragonwake one (and is therefore the only one guaranteed to drop a Gold) but it's almost always not working; how are we supposed to get Ruin gear?


I know some will say, try & grind SC gear, but tbh I'm not a fan of SC's any more. They are normally so lopsided it's more annoying than any form of fun.
Others will say, try & grind oRvR. Well, can't really do that at the moment either until the coming new system is introduced. It's quiet to non existent at the moment, and standing in a line flinging fire at the enemy in the middle of Praag just doesn't quite cut it for me. I like the variety and sense of achievement in taking things/objectives.

I know that the Dev's & the peeps at the top are working hard to make changes and fix various things, and I know that this is Alpha and fully understand that. It's just that I do love logging in every day and playing this game, but I'm starting to get a little bored levelling alts.

Would it be possible to temporarily at least upgrade the Praag PQ to a hard one? Maybe spawn some extra mobs/change the kill triggers for the stages? As it's the only one working most of the time it needs some loving to keep some form of interest going. Idk, perhaps this is being worked on at the moment? I've been keeping my eye on the forums the last few days for any updates, but it all seems to have gone very very quiet on the subject of Ruin gear.

I'm just waiting till the fix a few more hard pq's I don't fancy spending hours trying to grind the one piece my mara needs then grinding the full set for my chosen and the rest of my guild on top of that.

I know there's a mad scramble atm for gear and the arms race is real atm. But I think with a bit of patience the devs will come through for me and ill be able to gear my toons allot easier.

Hmm yes till they introduce more working hard PQ's or fix DW to not bug out that much it's kinda hard but they are working on it so you just have to wait. However you can try to do the PQ's after a server down they are normally working then for quite some time. If a serverdown occures get your buddies rdy and grind the PQ when it is up again.

At this point we should all just be happy that we have T4 to play around in. Think back a couple weeks, to no ORvR at all working in T3. We knew that T4 was rushed, and that we'd probably be at a very limited set of options for what to do. But it's T4!

Yea, gearing up is a pain in the ass other than SCs. But it wont always be.

you need to compete versus 25 other people, to be first at roll and get the bag, then you need to be lucky to get a DIFFERENT piece, a piece u dont alrdy have. It's too much really!

Ruin gear is a big miss right now due to the reasons the OP presented, especially on the destro side. (I was told that more order PQs are running more consistently, but I do not know for sure.)

Anyway, my solution would be to change the system to a currency type system as we see for Anni and MErc gear. There could be Ruin type coins in each bag, Gold giving the most and white the least, then make each piece of gear purchasable from a vendor for an appropriate amount of the currency.

What this does is it allows a better progression where people feel like they are making some kind of progress without the discouragement we currently have where only one PQ is working, it may or may not drop a gold bag, you may or may not get it, and it may or may not have a piece you don't already have.

at least giving multiple gear choices in a bag, like shoulder/helm and /boots/gloves, so we dont end up with 3x gloves and no boots...

I Already got 4 pieces, just need now the chest too finish the bonus set, but still getting the other pieces... already win other 12 Gold bag and where is the chest?? in total I win 16 times and dont finish the damn set ;/
