When i played the old war, my SM was specced with a lot of str and toughness, putting guards on DPS or healers, snaring then punting the bad guys trying to kill healers etc.

Still rr3x, and playing on/off in guild groups.
Using 2x Morale/Strength rings and 2x 20/20 Str/Wounds rings. Playing with Redwind 2h epic quest sword, full duelist with str talis. Personally, always use Nature's Blade, draining 100~ initiative is deadly, but its a bit RNG.
With 25% parry buff up you can get close to 60% iirc, before any Strength reduction. Helps a ton with guard damage.
Only use Ensorcelled Blow cause Spirit Damage + tactic choice or bubble in First Stance.
2nd Stance is either Snare or Spirit Debuff, and parry if it gets troublesome to stay alive. Always keep Spirit Debuff on the target, as it boosts the damage from Blurring Shocks 2nd effect, but snare on the target if not already snared is more important imo.
3rd is always Blurring Shock if not already on the target, then Ether Dance or Whispering Winds, dependant on spec. Gusting wind if peeling is needed.

Anyway can someone help me about jew,talism etc with toughness/block/parry stat?

Tested absorbs yesterday: Vauls Buffer, Protection of Hoeth and Phantoms blade stack. Pretty good against WE and Doks.

Hi guys! I got a question about Blurring Shock. From my experience it seems a little useless...
What do you guys think about it? I'm only level 33 with my 2H SM, that's why I ask experienced SM players.

The damage it does base is low compared to Dazzling Strike for example, but it's the effect you want, that being the extra spirit damage on crit. With my build I have Balanced Accuracy, which gives 10% and 20% more crit in Improved and Perfect stance respectively.ToXoS wrote:Hi guys! I got a question about Blurring Shock. Now combine that with a multi strike ability like Ether Dance with upwards to 40% crit with BA and gear, then taunt for the extra 30% increased damage and you are looking at a boat load of burst damage, with the added bonus that it is 100% Spirit damage. Not to mention it's not JUST your attacks either, it's your allies attacks as well.
As far as rotation goes, it's all situational and based on what you're fighting. Squaring up against a MDPS? SS into a quick EF and DT to reduce their dmg output before setting up your own, caster or healer, QI into a dazzling strike saving taunt for casts.
That's the really nice thing about SM's, is that they have lot's of versatility when dealing with other types of opponents,

Hey guys, new SM here. Just got myself up to level 16 and am still a little confused. I wanna be a dps or at least use a greatsword only. I see that Path of Khaine is the way to go for that. Should I just throw a lot of points into that tree? Whhat abilities to pick and what to ignore. Also are there any abilities I should never use playing as a dps SM?

The best set up for SM is using 2 of em. One that specs heavy in Khaine for stat stealing CW, and dmg output. And the other one for stripping away spirit ressist CW and WW.
