Client download issues and troubleshooting

Hey all!

I am eager to return to the reckoning, but I am having an issue installing the game. I DLed it via torrent, but when I attempt to run warpatch.exe it tells me "The patch client is unable to download the file C:\users....\warpatch.bin (0 total errors encountered). Please ensure the game is not already running and there is free space available on the disk."

I made sure all instances of the app were closed, and I have 100s of gigs of data, I'm not sure what's wrong here.

When I try to run the actual WAR.exe, it tells me to run Warpatch.exe first, and I run into the same problem.

I'm so close, any insights?

Have you tried all the stuff under "Access was denied to the path or file WAR.exe!" in this thread (under Launcher tab):

Edit: For continuity purposes, this was in response to the previous post asking about how to fix access denied msg, before it was edited.

this is the issue i am currently having can someone please help me out

Remove read only on the game folder.

Access was denied to the path or file WAR.exe!

Remove the write-protection (right click the game folder -> properties -> disable read-only) from all the files in the WAR folder and try again. You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges.

If you used the torrent to download the game, the torrent application may still be using the files. Either copy the entire WAR folder to a new location (if you wish to continue supporting the torrent), or move the entire WAR folder to another location to break access to the torrent.

so i got the game downloaded and i get to the main screen and its just the background it doesnst show the server but shows the patch wat should i do

have download via torrent and copy the ror launcher in game floder.
