are you connecting via wlan or lan? what router? you can try to set a dmz for your pc in your router.

demilitarized zone, its an option in routers to let any traffic go through on any port to your pc.

all i can aditionally suggest try to plug your pc in with a cable to your router if thats even possible.

lot of people have this problem ( as me : web server in red/ connect in grey ). Some of them say that if you restart the launcher a lot of times it'll work. personnally I have tried at least 50 times and this is always the same launcher screen At this moment server is down, maybe the RoR team is working on the resolution of this issue ...
