Just a prank bro
Welcome to the server. Don't mind some of the populated masses, they just get sour when they die to PvP. I'm currently reading the first Dwarves book to my son. Seems to be a pretty well-written book. We're only 200 pages in, so Tungdil isn't even to Girdlegard yet.Firefly wrote:You're welcome. I haven't actually started re-playing the game yet. I don't have a lot of free time and currently I'm involved in resurrecting Planetside onto a private server (game just turned off, finally, yesterday).Malgaroth wrote:Well, welcome home. Who ya play?
When I did play, I had one of each on both Order and Destruction, for varying reasons. I preferred to play Order in my private time. My faves were the Swordmaster, Ironbreaker, and the Bright Wizard. I will probably take up an Ironbreaker again, as I loved the Dwarf storylines more than anything else. I actually just finished reading "The Dwarves" by Markus Heitz, which is what prompted me to come back and download again.

If we only had the Mythic Dev ToolsStmichael1989 wrote:I bet even a half hour chat with some of the devs in PM would do wonders to getting the game in a more complete state.
Welcome Home, Firefly.
Most of it was proprietary and custom-built. Let me ask a few people and see, I doubt anyone has kept anything. Best bet *might* be Broadsword employees.saupreusse wrote:If we only had the Mythic Dev Tools
I spent four years at Mythic doing everything from CSR (not GM) to development. I have plenty of stories. However, you were the first person in this thread to act like a **** to me, so I'm not really inclined to backtrack and deliver what you're asking for. Plus, there are a lot of devs that are still in game development, and a lot of them are my personal IRL friends. I'm not interested in spilling any dirt about my time there, out of respect for them. Even if I do privately believe that they/we made some bad decisions, they're still human beings and deserving of respect. Something a rare few of you seem to have forgotten, or never learned (I still ain't mad atcha). Furthermore, it could be a professional risk to myself to be publicly badmouthing or otherwise divulging information, technical or just behind-the-scenes concerns. On top of ALL that, it was eight years ago -- I'm not interested in reliving, rehashing, or Monday morning quarterbacking anything. I'm just here to play, and chat, and BS. Not deconstruct where anyone might have gone wrong or who might be at fault.seara wrote:I think he is a GM, all i wanted was cool coding stories and balance decisions, original visions ect. Those were never given out, and if anyone has them it has to be the coders or lead artists.
We have chatted with Mark Jacobs, Andrew Meggs, Keaven Freeman, and others from Mythic. They mostly wished us luck but wont share any technical details. We have no expectation of any help from Mythic employees, their moral support is best we can hope for.Stmichael1989 wrote:I bet even a half hour chat with some of the devs in PM would do wonders to getting the game in a more complete state.
