I've personally been having issues with my lion not registering its stance at all and when i actually cast stances the stance not changing to the one I've chosen leading to my lion in addition to the other mentioned issues half of the time just being a basic lion with no additional abilities at all save its basic attack. dismissing and re summoning only sometimes fixes the problem and takes generally several tries. often resulting in the summoning of a lion with the stance i wanted to change out of in the first place :s.

Yeah the pets are a huge mess right now, I would recommend playing something else until this gets a fix.

Back in live IMO the AI for the lion was so bad it made WL almost unplayable. I found a macro on a forum that was a life saver for me. When I started playing here I wondered if I would be able to find it again and low and behold a little Google searching turned up a 7 or 8 year old thread on a message board.

Just make a macro with the following:

/script if (GameData.Player.Pet.Target.level > 0) then CommandPet(GameData.PetCommand.FOLLOW); PetWindow.SwitchToPassiveStance(); PetWindow.SwitchToDefensive(); PetWindow.SwitchToPassiveStance() else CommandPet(GameData.PetCommand.ATTACK) end

It's an attack/follow toggle macro so you press it once, pet attacks, press it again and the pet will come back to you. Only problem is that you have to keep track of how many times you press it so no spamming.

Is it perfect? No. But it makes the lion much more controllable with a simple key press. Just put the lion on passive and use the macro to control his actions so he just doesn't run around willy nilly and is always around when you need him.

Hope this helps! Though I am playing Destro mostly now so please don't eat me with your lions! <3

Have you checked your combat log or target's debuffs to see if the lion's actually using the abilities? This happens to me (particularly the stance bar not updating when you swich stances) but it's only ever been a visual thing.

Well it might be worse for you ofc (maybe latency or sth?) but apart from the constant disappearances -which I agree is a pretty serious issue- the pet is mostly fine in terms of its AI imo*.

*Not talking about other long-term issues like it being destroyed by aoe etc.

The control of the pet is kinda ok. But the disappearences are really horrible. It would be really great if devs could tell us if they are working or something

The pet has a short attention span so he gets distracted easily and runs off for a bit. It's annoying when on slow nights, you're trying to defend a keep with a cannon or whatever and a WL has you targeted, keeps sending his lion up to you and you eventually die no matter what if you can't heal.

There's not much point asking if it's being worked on tbh; it's already on the bug tracker (https://github.com/WarEmu/WarBugs/issues/5714) so it's just a case of waiting till Azarael gets to it in the priority list :P

I NEVER have issues in combat. Using passive stance with manual comands. Sure pet might fail a fetch because target is moving. But im glad it happens.
Fetch would be totally boken otherwise.

I do have an idea for a "hotfix" when mounted

Whenever you are mounted the pet is locked to your side.
I dont care if its ugly as hell. (offsynch runinganimations, delay to unlock pet at demount etc)

Wl is a burst class with silence and KD on pet. If the pet takes 5 seconds to arive the battle can already be lost.
Love ya devs for your hard work!
