Its possible they could make an offer to GW. EA actually dropped the trademark to WAR.
But they may just say no and shut down this server :S
tbh idk how much the license for this game would honestly cost, as its a dead game.
And late GW has been selling the licenses all over the place.
Why not make EA/Games Workshop an offer?

Don't raise attention!
The fact that it seems GW doesn't care about RoR yet, doesn't mean they tolerate the project. It might be we are just to small and as a nonprofit project not worth the effort and there money to sue or to take clear actions. But as soon as they have to recognize us officially they are forced to deal with us. As the RoR / WAR-Emu Team already did a copyright and franchise infringement and, much worse, reverse engeeniered trademarked software, they most likely will take legal steps to shut us down.
If they come up with the idea it would be awesome PR to officially support a fan project / private server they will get in touch with the RoR team but don't point that way on your own.

I mean, at best maybe GW could give us their blessing? That way the dev can get some money to improve the game? But that will never ever ever ever ever ever ever happen.
They would rather shut us down then let us become anything more then a rinky dink private server.

As far as Private Servers go, RoR is pretty damn good, though.
"Khorne!" they howled until it seemed the walls must fall from the violence of their voices alone. "Khorne!" they shrieked as they gnashed their teeth and bit their shields."

yeah. But that fact wouldn't speak in our favor in case GW brings the "warhammer"-wielding lawyers over RoR.HrothgarrBloodrage wrote:As far as Private Servers go, RoR is pretty damn good, though.

Actually this server was allowed to live for more then 2 years. That does hold some water in court.Tinkz wrote:yeah. Re: Why not make EA/Games Workshop an offer?
I wouldn't bet my money on that. Not getting any legal notes doesn't mean it "was allowed". As long as they don't officially know about RoR they can do what ever they want. Ignore, tolerate, (offically) support or sue the sh*t out of the RoR Team. That's why I wrote as soon as they have to offically recognize us, they have to deal with our existence and take binding actions whatever that would be.

gotta love them :d they decide wipe the game from existance but get pissed of if people still play it..even though they binned it.
thats the equivalent of me suing a tramp for eating leftovers from my bin.

Um.. Mythic developers quit when EA decided they'd have their final say in development. While EA may have dropped trademark, they were still the ones to decide to shut it down.
Long story short - Should GW agree, they would need funding to properly publish it (again) and they'd most likely go to EA, if they go to EA, EA will probably insist that It's run on their terms, which I'd rather just not have happen. The RR 100 was **** nonsense. The amount of microtransaction crap they added was unacceptable in so many ways. Not to mention game just came to a stand still.
Let's just have a LITTLE patience and let the devs here sort out the issues and then we'll all get back to enjoying the game for what it should have been.
