Re: Warhammer Total War
After reading all that, I am definitely gonna wait. Until they release more Beastmen units/lower the price.
Re: Warhammer Total War
My hope is either a steamsale, or after a few more DLC packs come out them roll them up in a bundle with a more reasonable price.Penril wrote:After reading all that, I am definitely gonna wait. Until they release more Beastmen units/lower the price.
Re: Warhammer Total War
I got the game for a few weeks now, but can't say I'm that enthousiastic because I don't like the 'management' part of the game. Also those stances (movement, camp, etc.) are annoying. The battles are ok, but I'd rather see a maximum of 10 units like in Dark Omen. Or maybe I just have to read the manual

Re: Warhammer Total War
I am not excited for beastmen, rather i am concerend for the fate of future factions
I first off dont really buy the whole its too hard to animate argument about jabbers secondly this makes me wonder if CA will make the same argument for other iconic army units like hydras for DE and the other "weird hard to animate" mc units for tomb kings and lizardmen
will they just give us reskined giants then? an "enslaved giant" for DE and a bone giant for TK?
furthermore beastmen already had a small and limited roster, without ghorgons, jabbers, harpies, tuskgor chariots, and doombulls; BM are missing 25% of their roster and if you look at their army list the only anti air units they have are those t1 archers, they will be underwhelming in multi as vanguard deployment is not something hard to deal with
Thirdly i would have been happy to pay $8-14 for just the roster, but im not going to blow around $20 for low replay value mini campaigns
In this beastmen one you will either wipe the empire then the orcs or the orcs will wipe the empire then you will wipe them, because mini campaigns are so narrow and focused on a smaller number of factions their is less variation of possibilities with each play through so its not value in my eyes

Re: Warhammer Total War
That's my bad, I saw they were doing the mini-campaign and assumed that was the extent of their inclusion. Don't mind me, just spreading misinformation because I can't read. If it's a mini-campaign and inclusion to the grand campaign, that's a bit of a better sell. Wonder where their start location is going to be... probably Middenheim somewhere.Penril wrote:- New Beastmen Race in the Grand CampaignGenisaurus wrote:I was, but $20 is a steep price to pay for DLC in a game I already burnt myself out on. But yeah, it's still region-priced to $19 for me here, in Best America (~$17 with the 10% discount). That's still a little too steep for me right now.
Re: Warhammer Total War
Doesnt Steam has a "buy for friend" thingy? Couldn't people just ask someone from a region that has a more reasonable price to buy it for them? Or that wouldn't work?
That's what i would try to do

Re: Warhammer Total War
I just don't think that the mini-campaign was necessary. At all. And that's the grand majority of the price, that's map design, it's new mechanics specific to the campaign, it's silliness that wasn't asked for. I just wanted my faction, its personal mechanics and maybe some additions to the overall campaign, like the beastpath.
I LOVE the beastpath idea, and sincerely hope it's available for the grand campaign.
Point being, I like Beastmen, I like the faction, I want it, but I don't want to spend money on the mini-campaign that I'm probably only gonna play for an hour and a half anyways.
