There was something bad for every patch of every mmo, thats why patches exist.

You can argue about the bad things 1.65 has and someone will come and tell you how much worse the former or later patches were, they have their reasons to pick 1.65 and they announce their servers as a near ideal 1.65 recreation.

Not saying i agree with their decisions but they are not fooling anyone, thats what they claimed they would do and i kinda can admire them for being stubborn about their decision.

Doesnt mean i like it either since well, i like playing casters and boy, is that patch bad for them.

This is according to them how it was back in 1.65. The mana regen before the "fixed" it was fairly decent and seemed normal but now if you go below 50% and don't have crack you are gonna be sitting for a while.

Also the power level issue is still a thing. 20% or so of level less and people crash on do.

It definitely is bad yes. As well as for every Melee that has no determination. I'd love playing some Casters or Melees like Friar, Reaver or Thane, but seemingly the group setups will be somewhat dull from what i've heard so far.

And sure, on the one hand its good that they stay faithful to their promised patchline/serverpolitics, but on the other hand this basically shatters any hope for a bettering of whatever may turn out to be sh*t in the end. Like said before, my hope has been destroyed already and i gues si'll have to close the chapter of daoc finally :|

The problem with Uth 2.0 is the 1.65 version, it 's totally stupid.. the best daoc "old school" period was the 1.69 with SI and the way to stuff your char quickly with the SI quest and some crafted armors..

Decent xp spot and pve dungeons, good stuff with an easy access for casual with quest and also for more hardcore players with SI dungeons like Galladoria, Sidi, Tusca etc...all people have a chance to stuff and go rvr very quickly with a very "similar" chance to do something great. (All depend on player skill ofc...) but this is the best period of daoc for some "old /veteran" players.

Mana regen was decent at 1.69 !
Class balance was not a problem (ok hib got an OP group cleanse) but Mid and Alb have so many good counter for it. (OP healers and dps on Mid, SoS on Alb and the famous BoF on cleric, etc...)

Imo, it's a big mistake to run with 1.65 and not the real "Classic mod" just before ToA, cauz this one was the best daoc ever for many of old timers....

I agree SI 1.69 was a blast. Not sure if that had NF or not but I loved SI.

In terms of group comp you are 100% right.

Mids running tank train healerx3 zerkerx3 skald and one more usually warrior or insert shaman and runie

Hibs running caster group or melee train. Bard bard Druid Druid and either heat debuff or Bms and heroes for the most part although as I play hib we were looking at a hybrid group.

Albs are running body groups or melee train. Cleric cleric sorc cab cab minst arms etc and usually not a paladin.

Tank non DET classes suffering big time in the 8v8 game.

The latest changes involve taking endurance off of the status bar. Also they've removed the color changes to status bar names regarding cc. Mezzed players will no longer turn light blue, diseased players will not turn orange, etc. With the sad state of mana regen these changes have incensed the masses. I hope the population will hang around, release day is still far away.

I been screwing around on this server since RoR is down. I never played daoc. So for me its super trippy seeing warhammer's precursor.

I played the hell out of the first everquest so the graphics are fine for me. I dunno i'm gettin my mmo fix from uthgard while RoR is down. Super cool seeing the classes.

If anything this is kinda gettin me excited for camelot unchained.

@ Zintair,

There's no NF in 1.69 version it was the good old emain, odin and hadrien :) epic battle in there !

And yeah, about the setup from each realms it was a bit more different in EU (french server)
- some mid groups like Warlegend run with skald, chaman, zerk or svg , warrior, sm pbaoe, healer x 3
- some alb with decent hybrid setup (with paly) or caster (body assist) sometimes hard tank setup with 2 mercs and armsmen
- some hibbies like me play on tank setup with 2 bard 2 bm 2 hero 2 druid or bomber squad with 3 pbaoe / heat assist or sometimes hybrid setup with a warden.

Remember me some good times on this old daoc pre ToA patch..

But Uthgard 2.0 it's not the same with this patch 1.65..it will be hard...no SI item...hard to make decent temp / stuff.. and very hard to have a decent pug, specially in Albion cauz many restriction to make a good setup...you need specific classes to be competitive on rvr 8v8 .. and with this mana reg. Tank setup are clearly OP...

But i think i will let Uth 2.0 a chance and try to play when it released..wait and see like we says...but i miss this *!**!* great 1.69 so much.

This. I would love for Unchained to prove everything I think about it wrong. But I don't see anything but a pile of steaming crap as the end result.

I am kinda surprised by the forum on Uthgard a bit. They seem incredibly stuck in what they want to create, without a whole lot of actual creation. Feels more like they want to emulate 2003 than create a private server for themselves/fans. But who knows? Maybe get everything "right" then make tweaks. I don't check it out that often, but that's the vibe I get.

Me? I am starting to get excited for CrowFall...
