The normal order of abilities are
Any-instant-cast-dot>Glean>Withered>Bolt of change> Surge of insanity> SVF> IFoC.
When you start to cast Bolt of change micro your pink pet to use its elemental debuff, if the pet is
bugged just spam the attack button and hope it casts it lol. If you do it right the pet will apply the debuff before your BOC hits. The pink pet is what lets you hit someone for 1.5k+.
Also reason for the third dot is cleanse sucks to fight and making sure you still have the Glean+withered debuff.

Last time I tried Throwing Arm (Engi equivalent of Daemonic Reach) it didn't seem to apply to Napalm Grenade. Would that be the case for Dissolving Mist?

@ttjones cool, seems my rotation was spot on. Yeah, I didn't include the DoTs, but they were implied, ofc.


Does anyone have a use for Mutating Blue Fire? I can't seem to fit it in my rotation, and I would rather cast BoC (5 second CD) in pretty much any situation.

Not sure haven't tested it but I can later, unlike engineer magus has a lot of good single target options in the middle tree like IFoC (125ft) rendwinds, SoI, and your all important spirit debuff from glean magic etc...

It does suck that it's only 25% compared to some other tactics in game that increase range, and you end up needing to use 2 tactics for the class to play somewhat smoothly.

I really hate the magus crit tactics, they only apply to one tree and you use a lot of abilities from all your trees really on top of the fact magus doesn't really have access to crit multiplier outside of using tactics... again only for specific abilities and not even trees which sucks even more.

Daemonic Infestation isn't a Path of Changing ability so it was never meant to be affected by Daemonic Reach- same with Land Mine and Throwing Arm. Dissolving Mist's range, however, is increased by Daemonic Reach but the tactic bugs out sometimes and it's range is decreased back to 65ft.

*I haven't tried it since t4 launched- so I don't know if the bug is still present.

Woops you are correct. My bad, I have edited my post. And yeah, the tactic didn't seem to work on those skills. Wonder if it is working as intended or that's a bug.

The hardest problem at st spec is that u nearly never come to a perfect rotation . the dmg is rly nice but most of times target isnt in range 4 all casts and u are damnit immobile

Nice. Will test the Engie equivalents when i get home.

Anyone found a use for Mutating Blue Fire yet? With BoC having a shorter CD than it had on live, you have it ready once your rotation ends so there is no point using MBF. I guess maybe if you use Focused Mind or Close Quarters you could add it to your rotation but other than that, you will probably have BoC ready.

It's literally one of those spells you will only ever use if both BoC and POTW are on cooldown. It's a shame really because the dot component is fairly strong and happens to be one of the only dots that is on a short duration. If it was given a faster cast time it may become useful (or if it was simply turned into a dot)
