Can't login after namechange

I changed the name of one of my characters ingame. Game starts the automatic logout. Game crashes while logging out. After restarting the game and trying to create a new character to reserve the "old just changed"name for another alt game crashes again and now im stuck in the "searching for allies and battles" phase and can't get to character select again Even after a lot of tries.
Any tips besides check firewall or isp ?

same happened to me...
first i stuck on the "searching for characters" (this appears two times) then it researches the server and i stuck on "searching for allies"

the character name change is quite recent and there are as expected some issues . I share the info with team and hope a quick answer/fix

Part of your character became unlinked. It's probably because name changes don't update the id lookup table. Will require a patch to fix.

The ability for players to change a character's name will be included in the next patch.

Stipulations:

- One character per account per month may have its name changed.
- Accounts which have ever been banned will not be allowed to use the system and would need to make a request of a GM, which would not be prioritized.
- Renown Rank 40 is required on the destination character.

The server has a memory of name changes to avoid players abusing them to duck punishments.
