New player in War Online

Hi there!

I'm a lover of Warhammer Fantasy, and with the total war series game, I'm hyped to play another warhammer game. I've seen this server and I asked myself, why not? But I have a few questions, since I don't have much time to play:

1. I love pvp. How long would it take to join pvp? How many hours +/- to be able to start having fun in pvp?

2. Is solo pvp fun in this game? Or is it better to join groups?

3. I want to play Order. I like assassins/high mobility archetypes, I'm looking into Shadow WArrior and Slayer, how are them in this game?

4- Objective answer on this: is the current player base enough to fulfill the world? I mean, is 600 players online enough for the world size? Or I will be looking for ppl to kill for years?

Thanks!

Welcome!

Warhammer is GREAT for Pvp. You can join from lvl ONE! At the very start, look on your top right hand corner of the screen. See the map? On the top left of the Map is a Queue button. That is for Scenario's(SCs). This is an instanced based combat over certain objectives(flags, bombs, etc). You can queue and accept SCs from anywhere in game. YOu just have to be out of comabt. If you get the stuck in combat bug, type .unlock in chat.

You can also walk/run to the Open Realm Vs Realm lakes(ORvR) this will be visible as the giant Red area on your main map(press M). These are Open area's with no size limit. YOu can join an open warband by looking for them(I I think? It's the 2nd button to the right from the middle on the top of your screen.)

Join a group. But soloing is just fine! You can get into Open groups easily. and you should since so many classes have Group based buffs.

Both are a lot of fun! I would suggest Slayer for a newbie however. SW are a lot of fun, but require a bit more overall game knowledge to excel at imo. Slayers do what the name states.

Ask up in /advice any questions you have. And search up the forums for specific questions, the vast majority of things are decently documented, you just gotta look.

GL, and HF!

Thanks for the info. I'm an experienced mmo player and competitive one, so if you say that SW are a lot of fun and are more rewarding, then I have to try them.

I see, you can join pvp at level 1, but when is it reasonable to join? Because at level 1 I won't have any skill at all, I want to be able to kill ppl, you know :P

Quick tip: dont start with a slayer. This class relies toomuch on a good grp. If you want high mobility, try the white lion. He is much better for beginners!

I don't like "light archetypes", I don't know. I really like dwarves in Warhammer, in fact I played them and bretonnia. I don't like elves at all, but shadow warrior looks nice. Is slayer so bad alone?

They can get melted at any lvl really... But that is so for all DPS classes. Edit: Ranged DPS have the advantage of Kiting, and SWs have some nifty abilities to help with that. Slayers need to be in the thick of things to do anything, and that means they can draw quite a bit of agro... But lower Tiers it is kind of moot.

Sorry, I forgot to add, at each tier when you enter a PvP area you are Bolstered up in rank/power to compensate for being lower lvl. So your stats receive a substantial buff.

SW is fun. The mechanic works if you get used to switching stances when needed. I suggest you browse the forums on builds/topics for the relevant classes. Check here for a character builder: http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=sw; to goof around with builds. But honestly, just roll the class and see what you think/feel.

Well the dwarfs still have the iron breaker. He is a tank with heavy armor and self heal. So he is one of the best choices for survival. He can do quite some dmg, but doesnt deal as much dmg as a slayer ofc. Your choice, but i believe the slayer is a very hard and at times frustrating class for a new player without a group. If you like a stealther you could also try the witch hunter. Sw is also quite good for solo play since he can kite.
