I had the same problem and tried rebuidling performance counters as described. And it worked. I can finally play (Again). Thank you very much.

yeah i saw after, my bad, it works now i was missing the extra files !

I tried this, 2x, I get to the main screen. But there is just a black box on the right, and I can't make a character. I looked at the forums and it suggested just loaded it several times. I have loaded it over 15x. Still can't make a character. Please help?
