what to chose for order

I apologize for any errors in advance, as i am on mobile.

I intend on rolling order that could change I'm looking to go with the least populated side. (If chaos has less someone speak up)

I am torn between playing as a tank or healer as a main (I want to pick up the human mage as an alt I hear they're rare.)

I have started a AM currently, and I may stay with it I'm looking for something to be effective in groups and rvr.

The classes I want feedback on are ironbreaker (if I'm going to tank why not be a dwarf =P). I would consider kotb with persuasion if there are not many around.

As far as healers I'm interested in an AM or WP because what kind of dwarf wears robes. The main reason I haven't just decided to stay AM is I hear they are subpar healers and unwanted.

Any insight that you can offer is appreciated.

If you're speaking of Bright Wizards when you say human mages then I have to disappoint you but there are quite a few about. They're the best RDPS career on Order, some would argue in the game.

Archmages are being looked at and recently received a change to their mechanic (along with Shamans). The devs aren't done with them yet, so expect further positive changes.

As far as Ironbreakers go, they can get very hard to kill while still being able to put out a decent amount of damage. In competitive play they are usually seen inferior to both KotBS and the Swordmasters, but they certainly aren't bad tanks. Of course Knights are undisputed kings of tankines and group utility.

And there ain't nothing wrong with a Dwarf wearing robes. Hell the Ironbreaker armour has a chainmail skirt!

Yeah, but it is still metal.^^

But back to topic, There arent so many ironbreakers here at the moment, so playing one might be quite fun, even if i personally prefer the swordmaster with his great damage and a bit more proactive style. There arent that much of bothe classes around, as Kotbs outshines them pretty much or so they say.

So sure, play an ironbreaker, I am sure, the Bitterstone Thunderers would love to have you as a member. If you wanna play an Elf, you could join The Eternal Host, we have seasoned AM who could advice you.

Well the Ironbreaker can definitely be very offensive, they have a knockdown and an armor reducing ability. And most of their dots hit quite hard given enough grudges.

I wont argue with that, but personally, I dont like dots... it is to simple to heal them out. I prefer burst damage.

Thanks to everyone for the responses,I think I will stick with AM after hearing they will be buffed. I may make a IB as well I had fun as a IB when I played on the live game. It was fun being frontline/ peel for healers. My normal gametime is 12 am to 4 am at -4gmt anyone who wants to play together add "genericelfname".

Drawing from my knowledge of off server (which at very least, partially applies here) :

WP was (and probably still is) the best healer out there, both very tough to kill (and even tougher when guarded properly), great aoe/party heals, burst heals and such, weaker single target heals but AOE heals make up for it. Every pro bomb/slayer DPS dealing group (which was sort of meta) consisted at very least of one of these, having two in same party with proper coordination with the rest of the team could take on a bigger groups (than itself ) of not so well coordinated people.

IB - one of the toughest tanks that you can see running around. I remember when seeing a IB with a shield usually meant that it's a turtle tank that is unkillable up to the point it can be hit by 4 (and more) people and still self heal through all their ridiculously dampened damage due to high block chance, loads of armour and resists. VIable 2h damage as well if you focus on that although you'll be more used to buff your guarded main damage dealers damage rather than killing stuff left and right, and those long knockdowns/stuns + aoe punts. Deelishus punting to be done with this one. Breaking formation and loads of buffs to your oath guarded target thats the main deal in 2h/dps builds.
Find yourself a good slayer to run around with and watch the magic happen.

AM - from what I saw in recent (or maybe one before) patch notes AM and Shammies mechanic has been significantly buffed. AM in skilled hands can either kill his targets efficently or keep the team rolling (e.g. keeping alive your main melee dps) through his heals (afaik single target heals are really good for this one, has some aoe but not as powerful as WP's counterpart) but requires focus on either part of the spectrum. Not as tough as WP tho'.

Why are you guys tricking him into playing AM? Is there like a destro shill force on the forums trying to sabotage new order players?

Don't play AM OP, just plz don't. In the absolute best case scenario and in skilled hands it's still the worst DPS, and worst healer in all imaginable situations bar making a small gank group that is actually going to play around the puddle. If you play RP/WP you can get into pretty much 99% of groups no questions asked.

As for tanks, IB will get you into most groups... there are still a lot of groups that would rather run knight SM, or double knight. The only time IB is brought is usually because a certain group comp needs the high armor debuff because they don't have WL. IB is probably the worst solo tank as well, so you won't be in high demand for 3-2-1 groups. Basically IB is only played in 2-2-2 group that don't run WL in a highly competitive sense.

AM is virtually nonexistent, go to any 6v6 event and go count the number of AM's/shamans there.
