What's the point of masking armory?

I think we should remove masking armory. This is a test. It would give players more ideas about how to equip. It also give new players ideas on how to equip, and what they should be striving for. Just makes the game more open, and adds discussions on why did you equipped your gear that way.

Thanks

I dunno why people do this either, lol. Tends to be a common thing among some of the 'cool kid' players, though :)

that's unfortunate, was not aware that people could mask their gear from the armory. Even adds a bit of distrust to the game imo. how do you know xxx isn't wearing stuff unavailable to others.

If by "masking the armory" you mean not allowing players to inspect your char ingame- you can go and lookup that character on the website's armory, in case you are THAT curious or can't gear up your char yourself without copying others.
I, personally, spend hours hunting the rare appearance items coz i want my chars to look different and dont want to be copied by scrubs without imagination :P

Sorry I thought they meant the website. In game masking has always been around. I see the need for it for just like Penril said.

Initially, I hated the return of the anonymous/hidden flags when they were fixed on RoR. Now, I believe the right to a certain sense of privacy is a good option to have. Only a minority of players use this feature, and if you are truly interested in somebody's gear set-up/appearance, you're free to ask them, and they're free to refuse to tell you.
