What's the point of masking armory?

Initially, I hated the return of the anonymous/hidden flags when they were fixed on RoR. Now, I believe the right to a certain sense of privacy is a good option to have. Only a minority of players use this feature, and if you are truly interested in somebody's gear set-up/appearance, you're free to ask them, and they're free to refuse to tell you.

with sov gear the only thing you mask are 7 talismans for all the rest there is the armory.

But i want to see your alternate appearance items



Some gits just wont respond when you ask them "hey were did you get x item"

But if i know the item name i can go pester torq for their locations

Do you really think that ppl who spent lots of time on appearance gear to make their chars look different, did it so that everyone and their mother would copy that?

Yes becuase, those items are available to everyone, their not some limited time accessible content dlc etc what have you nonsense, their is a finite amount of accessible gear in this game implemented or not


your character will never be a special little snowflake, their will always be someone out their who will have the same item as alt app so some one going "hurr i found this in some pq/quest/tier influence reward and i wont share the location with anyone" , is basically doing it out of spite and nothing more

I hide myself so people don't send me tells like "ewwww why are you using those talismans?" or "ewwww you should wear X shoulders and Y helmet instead, it makes you moar bestest".

Bingo. Often I have to deal with many tells so it helps filter it out and make it a little easier, and I still recieve tells asking to see my gear, which just leads to more questions about the class/advice, helps limit this to have myself hidden, plus they can always use the website armory to look at my gear if so interested.

Also - I can see all of your secrets even when hidden

If someone tells you, that something is bestest, and he isnt neither an ork nor Donald Trump, you can very well ignor him.^^

Part of me is curious now to know if you get a little triggered every time you see someone with the same alt app items as you
