Simply put you are forcing people to do things they aren't used to do and sometimes answering angrly to their complains too.
And as a casual player (easy class,log, find a pug, cast some heals, no potions) i can tell you that your appeals to "read the class description" are of little impact.

We don't make decisions based on players who refuse to read the notes yet still feel entitled to complain in advice based on a very limited understanding. If they have enough energy to complain, they have enough energy to read a simple post. It's never appropriate to hand out the power to block change to people based on their refusal to read.

You've shifted the meta to RP/AM. ZLT/SHM. I don't care if its viable in pug scs, as everything is... 6x Engi groups are viable in pug Scs.
- Healer spending more time healing himself rather than others is a non-issue. If he has to heal himself due to being focused that means others aren't being focused and thus do not require healing. There is only a certain amount of damage flying around which is unchanged by who the healer is and there will only be a certain amount of healing required, again unchanged by who the healer is. As long as the healer can successfuly provide that amount of healing he will be doing his job, regardless of who he is healing. (Not counting overhealing here because with a high skillcap it should be minimal.)
- Defensive kiting can still be done with reasonably high skill on the healers part as usually there will be at least tanks if not MDPS involved in the chase. I agree it's very difficult if there are not, but again chances of that happening are low.
- Melee healing provides plenty of secondary effects, but not all are strictly defensive. For example Sigmar's Fist, Sigmar's Vision, even Greave of Sigmar are defensive/offensive buffs. Absence of Faith, Vow of Silence, Purge as offensive utility/debuffs. Just because the secondary effects healers provide are different from the expected and the norm doesn't mean there aren't any. In fact, these are what makes melee healing truly strong.

I agree melee healing has a lot of drawbacks but so does ranged healing. I remains to be seen how viable it actually is and I don't think anyone is fit to judge the viability based off 1&1/2 of day of testing a concept that is still being adjusted.

Hi,

just tried the new mechanic in Scs but have to say that my prayer was overwriten all the time. I was playing with another 2 WPs in my group and somehow my prayer(was testing devotion) was off. I switched it back on a few times, but maybe the other WP did also. I Think this an older bug that prayers will be off or overwriten in scs, but now with the new machanic it is really painfull :P.

Good thing forcing the test mode for a while, from my point i have to say that I was too lazy to try it until now. More feedback the next days

Grats on not understanding anything. Here's a tip: go to the char selection screen, select DoK, read, thoroughly, the description that is written there, then go and read the changes and understand that "hitting things in melee sometimes" does not mean "dps" and "frontline healer" does not mean "overpowered backline healer with 100% uptime aoe detaunt, medium armor and short casts". Thanks!

EDIT: RR58 backline DoK. What a bloody shock.
What about +50rr Zeals/RP's - Ams/Shamans being backline healers? Or I'm the only who knows that RP can easily have +4k armor, -10% armor pen or Zeal can use to have about the double of DoK armor right now,etc,etc.?No penalties for em?

Hey, thanks for your post. Maybe there is really some bug with Prayers. Because I thought I was somehow turning it off by accident and didn't realize it. I did .ab ex again in SC (but then I turned EX mode off) That means my prayer is either sometimes turning off from itself, or I am somehow often turning it of by myself (I dont really believe second option)

first of all i have to mention that i played a WP on live and was really disappointed as they introduced the Reg on book/chalice.
BUT all other/ later adjustments of this game are made with this Healing Power existing.

Changing the WP/DoK this way results in switching the whole Dmg per second vs Heal per second ratio. This is a huge Balance change in general and probably will lead to a complete different gameplay.

What about them? Please don't try to hide your purist / traditionalist viewpoint behind something like this, those healers are meant to backline and are not OP, whereas DoK/WP have "front line healer" in the goddamn description as posted above, and that you would bring AM/Shaman into this is just desperation - you and I know full well AM and Shaman have no place in your beloved 1.4.8 meta.

Really, you should stop. You blew your cover when you posted the Changehammer thread, and everything you post will be viewed as traditionalism. Perhaps one of the "99%" of other people who apparently want a total replica of 1.4.8 will post instead.
