[SW] Need a comprehensive guide / advice

Hello all,

I am currently leveling a SW for fun, he's 24 at the moment, with some points spent in Skirmish (no abilities though). I plan to pvp a bit to get Stalker armor, and have a weird purple bow for when he'll 25. I plan to go full skirmish with some points in scout to get glass arrow. I read the previous topics, but I was wondering if any of you have a link to a good-comprensive guide to the class, or have further suggestions on how to proceed.

Thanks a lot!

Watch this vid. This guy was one of the best SW on live. He explained his build/tactics/gear in it.

This is a very different game than live. Being good at live doesnt make you good here.

The SW is a class that can be made to play in many different ways and for me, the way destro plays has made me change my spec constantly.

On live i had rr81 SW that i mostly soloed to that RR. As my server, Karak-Azgal had destro play quite a lot of range, i mostly played scout spec. But in the end of the day you have three choices:

1) scout:
RoR.builders - Shadow Warrior
This is something i would think to use as scout build. Festering arrow bombing (as it was called in live) is not as effective as moral gain is slowed in RoR.

Your targets are enemy non tanks mostly. Dot up and spam Eagle Eye. The key is to know your range and enemy range. Now that the magus/engi range is higher than your range, its much harder to play like this. On live you had 110ft range and they had 100ft.

2) Skirmish
RoR.builders - Shadow Warrior

In this spec you are basically only in skirmish stance, always moving. This spec works quite well solo as you can kite the hell out of people (just don't run into trees, building or whatever :D)

Idea is have your snare running and your dots up all the time on the target. if in WB you can use Split Arrows but in SC its up to you, personally i wouldn't use split arrows.

3) Assault (melee)
RoR.builders - Shadow Warrior

Full melee build, but you should start off in skirmish stance as you kind of need the snare and it can't be used in assault.
This is mostly solo and smaller SC only spec as more people = more chance of getting nuked.
This spec has lost its damage abit due to morale gain being lower and you cant burst people with morale 2. Well you can, but takes a lot longer to get to it. The spec is still fun and if played right, can do a lot of damage.

Now, there are many variations to these specs, some will spend 2-3 points differently but in the general sense, this is your options for 3 ways.

How am i going to spec, when i reach t4? Well, as i have just found this server, i'm not in t4 yet, so i might be wrong on some things, but the basics are there :)

I will try something that i have never done. I'm going to play ranged in Assault form.
RoR.builders - Shadow Warrior

That means i will use all the scout abilities, that can be used, and stay most of the time in Assault stance. When i need to kite or snare, i will swap to skirmish. If i need more range (keep def/attack) i will use scout.

Will this work, not sure, T1 and T2 it works just fine, but those are not t4 :)
Why assault stance you ask, well, due to this server no having high armour gear, that means I can buff myself higher than most ranged dps and hopefully i can survive longer :)

Hope this helps even a little bit
