Sorc vs Magus?

What are the big differences between Sorc's and Magus'? I have heard that a Sorc is more mobile but way more likely to die, but is there more to it than that?

Sorc has way more burst aswell i think.
Not sure tho as i saw some magus doing sick dmg to.
Might be a l2p problem but i wouldnt know as i never played magus or sorc.

Sorc has way faster burst and blows itself up.
Magus is a slow progression.

Magus has rift. Sorc is better at everything else.

Sorcs have better damage, magus has better "utlity"

The former is a more "mobile" even if they also have spells that they need to stay still to cast while magus is less mobile as they cannot go 20 ft past their summoned deamon turrents but magus is more durable as they have medium armor

you can skill a magus fast dmg so they make the same burst in short time, in a longer fight the magus have more dmg but you cant good oneshot a enemy

make a test-play with both classes and play the mechanic that you want

The major big differences:
-sorcs are way more fragile and kill themselves through backlash, but to compensate this they have the hardest burst possible (high risk high reward)
-magus' can outplay every (!) enemy through their tools (crowd control, pets) - sorcs doesn't have that utility
-magus needs his stationary pet and has to reposition it frequently - sorcs does not have this "feature"
