I enjoyed that one more as well, you had to think more about how to do thing. Nice, SH needs to be even worse than it is now.

I know this isnt the place to make suggestions however if the general consensus is that the older renown system is better/more balanced (and the files still exist for it) and that the current renown abilities like cw/rd and qe are there to better help players fight the zerg an option may be to give the full sov granted abilities (anti crit, morale drain, inex force) as the 5th piece bonus to other t4 sets (anni/conq/inv/warlord) that way players have the oh **** buttons and at the same time removes the crit levels (coz i know how much the staff hate how everything is crit focused) and also reducing the morale issues spoken about recently.
Using them at the right time will make fighting a zerg easier, likely increase TTK in general, reduce morale bombing/ease of m4 use on destro, reduce crit levels and give players who are more aware/more skilled be able to show it by using them at the perfect time, ofc i am meaning if the current renown point system is scrapped and the older version is introduced.

It's vice versa; good luck with kiting anyone now. As soon as you do damage to the melee, you risk that his speedbuff procs. As soon as it procs, he will close distance for the snare/KD.
