Greetings greenskins!
Im looking to start leveling a choppa. Problem is i dont really know a lot about this career.
Anyone can suggest a solid build for roaming? Also is it better to dual wield or TH?

Re: Choppa question
Hey ! Honestly choppa isnt the best for solo roaming you might like a WE or a mara better for that, imho chppa is really party dependant.
As a 2H you could run something like that :
RoR.builders - Choppa
I think the debuff CD can be really matter in a 1v1 it has decent damage can exhaust rage. You cant really run solo without furious choppin or cant stop da chop (need a way to cut down those healer in a 1v2 or **** like that.
As a dual wield (very offensive) :
RoR.builders - Choppa
With wot rules ? you become a killing machine with a nice sequence of finisher but you're also pretty much a potato and gonna get rekt really easy and really fast i think its tricky to play without the assistance of a party.
dual wield safe :
RoR.builders - Choppa
I think that's the best you can do at 40/40 dueal wield give you a nice parry buff the dot ticks hard, you can eexhaust your rage if get focus too hard.
I'm not a pro choppa (far from that) but i hope it help you a bit.
Cheers !

Re: Choppa question
Choppa in general isn't a very good class. Very few variations of builds, abillities that makes no sence and an abundance of useless tactics aswell as taking some heavy blanket AoE nerfs hints that the class design was rushed.
I find the class pretty fun to play for no other reasons then its an Orc. It can deal out some serius damage due to the Berzerk mode of its mechanic. But utilizing the mechanic as it was designed to be used doesn't work very well.

Re: Choppa question
Time to reroll, probably going Order this time to not constantly get dunked in SC's. So sad.

Re: Choppa question
Why? If you enjoy Choppa, play Choppa. All you need is a team, chances are, you will find a good team or adapt. Just because something is hard doesnt mean it's weak or ineffective. Also, if you rerolled you might be disappointed. I had the same idea, but I started Order, kept losing in Scs, so I rerolled to Destro to join the winning side, then proceeded to get steam rolled. The side doesn't matter for victory, it's the individuals working together, and working together well, to overcome and achieve success. Have fun!Zemnexx wrote:Time to reroll, probably going Order this time to not constantly get dunked in SC's. So sad.

I do enjoy Choppa, but I do not want to have to rely on an entire team of people to feel like I have a fighting chance, so I will be rerolling to a more solo favorable class. Many have said that Choppa's are underperforming, which isn't a good feeling either. You may be able to stay optimistic, but I will instead do something about it and change to something else. I guess each player has their own experience, and mine has been that I can lose over 10+ Scenarios before winning one on some of the worst days. Even if I was the worse player and I caused some of these losses for some reason, you would think that at some point the team's gear and skill would be able to carry me but that simply hasn't been the case and the consistent losses continue. We shall see if this improves as I am rerolling already.

Re: Choppa question
the best players i've ever seen were all choppas. it's the ultimate all or nothing class. you're the car in a game of chicken, and you've thrown the steering wheel out of the window. some resign to loldps BOs, or giant baby man slayers, but choppas are the epitome of "i'm just here to kill."
what exactly are you having trouble with in SCs? i play exclusively destro and do more pug SCs than orvr. assuming we have equal healers (is usually the case, plus RPs and AMs tend to dps more than zeals and shamans), and tanks who guard (me + 1 will do) i find our chances of victory are entirely dependent on the number and quality of choppas we have
WEs and maras are great but the former is without fail completely suicidal and will never consider the max range of our own healers and the latter can often lack the necessary DD if they go aoe or debuffbot. i just want choppas damnit
now there IS such a thing as too many choppas, a critical mass of choppas, choppa overload, defchop 1, but this rarely happens and is pretty funny to watch anyway

Re: Choppa question
Choppa is the most group-dependant class on Destro. You need a group for it. If you're not willing to play with a group (dunno why) make a dps shaman or dps dok.

Re: Choppa question
Solo choppa is tough but if you persist I'd use this build (solid isn' the word I'd use though)Zemnexx wrote:To answer your questions matter of factly:MorboNinja wrote:

I use ini tallies to get 300-310 or so. Quick escape 1(10pts), max dodge/disrupt(20pts), and (10pts) parry + dual wield (CW1 is also an option)

You need to pop in and out of melee to survive and use aoe finisher + charge or flee. Don't forget M1 shield, heal potions and snare break.
Most of all accept being #1 target of order dps and respawning frequently.
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7
