Would contact with some of the original devs help?

I've been having a blast this past week playing RoR. I'd love to help with this project, but I don't really have any coding skills and don't really have the energy to be a GM (I'm an anxious mess).

IRL I'm trained as a journalist though, so I've got experience tracking down contacts. So my question is, would it help the team if they had contact with some of the original WAR developers? Because I could spend my spare time tracking down some contact details.

I don't want to do this without asking first because I'm not aware of the legality of this project, and I wouldn't want to talk to the wrong person and compromise the project. I also don't want to do it without asking because I'm not sure of how much it would help. It could be something that isn't really useful because maybe the WAR emulator is different to how live ran.

But yeah, essentially I was just curious if this is something that would help. Completely understand if it isn't

Since we rebuild the serverside I doubt it would help that much, but maybe some as there are still some packet data we still need to figure out.

However we do operate in a gray area although GW/EA most likely know we exist I would not want more attention from them then needed.

Mark Jacobs and whole lot of the devs know about this. A few even play this if the thread from last year from as former dev is to go by.
