hi fellas,
sincee lot of time passed from my last engi gameplay (last year) i heard that turret received many buffs and are no moe the static pet once were.
Where can i fin info concerning new turrets?
also i was thinking about going grenadier spec with engi. the skills looks quite interesting for the t4 zerg open rvr, what you think about that guys?

So the turrets have addition effects now and the base damage buff was doubled to 40%

Gunturret increases ability range.
Grenade allows cast on the more for grenade skills, and decreases the length of grenade dots + friction burn.
Flame increases dodge disrupt and the maximum target cap of AoE abilities, but decreases your ability range.

Grenade can work in RvR pug zerging when you are hitting largely unhealed enemies. In the right setting you can do a lot in a keep or on a tight BO. Grenade turret really helps with the reduced dot tick time to up the damage.

Be warned though your ST will lack against enemies that have good heals. Grenade has no burst, and you will not win a battle of AP with any healer. Even fire bomb spam is a lackluster against solid healing.

ok so mainly , if i got it correctly, is not viable yet unless healers are sleeping right? x)

Bombardement turret also keep you buff up til 65ft range from your turret . Between 30ft and 65ft range you don't get or lose any stack .

More clear about range gain/lose:
Gunturret :+25% range
Flameturret : -40% range
Grunbag - 40 - 33 Squig Herder
Skorri - 40 - 65 Engineer

Here's Azarael post for turret buff :

Gun Turret (Sniper)

- Improves your range, PENDING: [and that of your turret,] by 5% per stack to a maximum of 25%.

Bombardment Turret (Mobility / DoT)

- When you are within 26-50 feet of your turret, you will neither lose nor gain Improvised Upgrades stacks.
- Improves your turret's range by 5% per stack to a maximum of 40%.
- Provided you have at least one Improvised Upgrade stack, allows you to use Path of the Grenadier skills while moving.
- Shortens the duration and tick interval of Path of the Grenadier and Tinkerer DoTs by approximately 5% per stack for a maximum reduction of 35%.

Flame Turret (Defensive Close Combat AoE)

- Improves your chance to Dodge and Disrupt by 4% per stack to a maximum of 32%.
- Improves your turret's chance to Dodge and Disrupt by 10% per stack to a maximum of 80%.
- Providing you have at least one Improvised Upgrade stack, allows you to use Path of the Grenadier skills while moving.
- Increases the radius of any of your AoE skills by 6.25% per stack to a maximum of 50%.
- Increases your AoE cap by 2 per stack.
- Reduces your cast range by 5% per stack to a minimum of 60% of its normal value.

wow nice ones thanks mate!

so one question: better use firebomb instead of standard shoot for normal attack? gun blast got 2 sec and deal more dmg while firebomb only 1 sec cast time although less range, right?

Well , you can use gun turret to increase any ability range . It increase all ability range not only rifleman ones .

If you take a lot of mastery point in grenadier path, you better use firebomb (and acidbomb to debuff target resist)

If you take a lot of mastery points in rifleman path you better use shotgun and gun turret to debuff target armor .

As karast said , actually grenadier tree is only good in a wb if you have to hit a lot of target , but it's all about fluff imo.

Rifleman is a strong ST path .
