[BG] Utility discussion

So as much as I love BG their overall group utility is lacking in comparison to its Destro cohort. One of the big ones for me is 2h BG is the only tank in the game that cant have a KD. So I am playing around with some ideas. Let me know what you think and please keep in mind I do not believe all of these could be implemented.

- Force of Fury lasts for 20 seconds and buffs the BG's Dark Protector as well (similar to IBs Guarded Attack)

- Make either Blade of Ruin, Enraged Beatings, or Crimson Death a 3 second KD (make Crimson Deaths KD though only apply to the BGs primary target. AoE KD would probably be a bit OP). That or make the BGs regular KD require parry instead of block.

- Shield of Rage applies to the BGs Dark Protector as well (much like IBs Runic Shield)

This would give the BG some better group utility because as it stands right now they are lacking.

I like your ideas, but the reality is there is no balance development happening for now, and probably not in a long while either. BG is gonna be suffering for a long while longer.

Would it Stun (as in stagger) or just another expression of doing damage?
Giving speed to 2h BG tree would be funny, making it THE meletrain tank to take.

Access to a KD in 2h spec would not be a crazy change, it would be in line with other tanks.

It is a bit ingenious to say BG has no overall group utility. They have great debuffs, that any IB would kill for. The only reason people see their debuffs as being lackluster is due to Mara's being simply crazy with theirs. If mara's were not the must have dps for premade groups, you would see more of a room for BG's when it comes to providing debuffs.

They especially need something in the warband department. Even running doubble BO or Chosen is currently better then adding BG as a tank. Atm they are limited to dps substitute at best. Running 1 for Furious Howl and Crimson Death is about the extent of the class. They used to do pretty decent with double DoK and Frozen Fury sorc in its party thanks to Monsterous Rending and Procs while being a tank. Wich made em the higest AoE dps tank in the game, but now rather netfed due to proc nerfs.

Good thing I rolled a BG recently, the future stuff looks promising.

More to the point - Halt, Fool! is intriguing. Цhile I'm all up for mirroring some of the IB stuff, a straight copy of cave-in with all the stuff available from the mid tree nowadays sounds a bit OP.

As for more utility from Dark Protector - this may sound strange but I believe that initial lack of usefeul things in that department has something to do with the class concept/lore. Blackguard is a rather evil and arrogant guy who's not supposed to babysit some inferiors. Obviosuly MMO gamers couldn't be bothered with that kind of things, but still.

I agree their debuffs are very nice but still provide lack luster utility for the group compared to the other destro tanks. While their abilities are great for single targets it lacks the wide spread utility affect the other tanks have. While IB could be argued to have the same the amount of utility it can provide to its Oathfriend works better in my opinion than the BGs debuffs.

I don't think BG is as gimp as others make them out to be. My big thing is I would AT LEAST like for 2h BG to have KD. Just give them a little bit more so their Dark Protector does more for their ally and I think they would be fine.
