Thanks

Rather compare DPS am to DPS Shamman and SH to Shadow warrior.

Its obvious DPS AM has big advantage with self heals, absorb bubble, etc. Squig herder has solid sustain and with M2 nice spikes. Run away tactic, "mini" charge, ranged disarm and silence but little group utility and is often replaced by Magus or Sorc. Destro side doesnt posses utility like pounce and ranged knockdown which You find verry often used on You, when You try to kite with Squig herder so playing ranged DPS is more confortable on order side.

A big pro for DPS AM is that he can respec to healer role, while SH is still "only" RDPS.

Side to side DPS wise they both have solid single target dmg and 1v1 I would say AM is definitely better.

Thats my 2 cents on SH class from SH player perspective. Now Trying DPS SHamman :D

dps shammy has the biggest burst rotation of these three but the lowest pressure because after a rotation you have to " reload it "
dps shammy with run away has better kite ability than am
Am better survivability
AM better heal debuff
Shammy better aoe assist dmg
Shammy coolest toughness debuff ever
Am morale 1 shield rocks ;D
Tinkabell 40/41 Magus Whaagit 40/41 SH Whaagot 40/54 BO Daknallfrosch 40/72shammy

I've encountered several AM while solo roaming with my SH, and as far as 1vs1 goes, I never lost any encounters. And tbh I don't think I'm a particularly skilled SH.

That's funny because I'll never engage a shammy with my SW

Sure the life of RDPS on destro side is not easy everyday, but I can assure you that SH have better group utility than a magus, because the SH can use the pet to hunt down enemies and have a spammable heal debuff.

Well, SW is not a good class to play solo anyway.

One huge difference between the two and partially the shammy is if the opponent has cleansing wind. SH can just burst someone down. While an AM will having to reapply a whole rotation. For shaman its not so bad as its only a couple of gcd or they can just go straight into their higher dps burst.

a pure dps am will struggle 1v1 vs a good sh. a more defensively-orientated am (like rioz) will beat most shs if they use their detaunt/ap drain wisely, and los if possible.

dps-wise? if the am can get his dots up, he provides very good sustained (affliction lock/sp style). dps shaman has better burst, daknal is a good example.
