Start up error

Hey guys been trying to figure out why game isn't working. Here are the details.

I start the launcher and connect, it opens up warhammer to a blank screen, I hear an error message but don't see anything. If I hit enter 3 separate times it will go to the game screen and load. Once I get to the screen where I should be able to create a character it doesn't load any characters or give me the option to create one. Here are the rest of the details.

I dl'd via torrent. I've already moved the installation folder so its not being used by torrent.
I downloaded the launcher with additional files that keeps getting suggested and replaced existing launcher.
I've done the repackaging thing (or whatever its called)
Read only has been unchecked.
Started launcher as admin.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any ideas on how to read the error messages Im getting? The screen is just blank and I hear a "beep" (error message) noise. I have to hit enter 3 times. Before it starts loading like normal minus actually showing you any characters to create. Has anyone had any luck running under precious OS? Currently using Win 10. I've tried everything besides redownloading which isn't an option. At least not for now. I use my cell phone as a hotspot when at home and not going to try to download 10 gigs with it.

Okay figured out the error codes and it was files in the miles folder. Fixed those. Now error free but still not giving an option to create a character. No errors. I have everything clicked as non read only. Run as admin. Unblock on launcher. That other launcher downloaded. Ideas? Is this a vpn thing? Update Tried VPN didn't help.

You might need the older DirectX version.

Check that it's whitelisted at your Antivirus/Firewall.

Wargrimnir, when you say check that it's whitelisted at your antivirus are you referring to directx? Or just making sure the game/launcher/patch etc is listed as an exception? I've done that.

Seems really odd that there aren't any error messages and everything seems to be working normal, handshakes/finds allies etc but just stops. Thinking maybe I need to redownload the game as the only possible fix.

win 10 is not my field of expertise unfortunatly any chance you try win7? You can use multiboot afaik.

this is my working game with launcher and some addons, it should work right out of the box if you unrar the files to a directory.

Going to try downloading your files Tiggo here in a bit. Will keep you guys posted. If that doesn't work I'll think about trying windows 7. That link you posted is that german? Is the game in english? I live in USA.

Uh, that's what the game looks like when you don't have any characters yet. Click one side or the other?

I was talking about whitelisting the game folder, not DX.
