Re: Incentives
Why should we have to go destro when other premades are the ones xrealming? You always say this and seem happy to keep things as they are. Sad, really must hate our guild. That being said, we will go destro if things stay as they are in an effort to balance things out again (an initiative noone seems to be taking, how unbecoming of RoR players! )Pumatouch wrote:The stage is yours. Fyi: there's a shortage of dark elven roleplay guilds; knock yourself out.

Re: Incentives
Why does no one want to organize 6man boisbands?
Well it's not worth the effort; since you can farm randoms/lowbies/pugs with a less serious random smaller group, and it works enough well.
But when you encounter a "more sirious businezz" enemy 6man, your own suboptimal somewhat casual group will fall apart because the opposition simply plays better, and you lack the incentives to try harder; it's just not worth the effort.
In the end, there always some bigger fish in the pond.
Now if the game had +10k players and tens of 6mans running around, then maybe you would get a proper 6man scene where investing time into training your own boisband makes sense, but with current +1k pop, it's just not worth it.
So what we have left is:
2-3 "organized" warbands appearing on each side daily, trying to outmanoeuvre one another and hit each other in the backlines.
2-4 pug wbs, some better led than others
2-6 fullgroups running around in zones biting at bigger warbands and ganking soloers because that is life
a dozen smaller groups of lone warriors playing together and hoping to get some deathblows
and tens of lone heroes just trying to earn their daily medals
tldr; there is just no point in bothering with 6mans boisbanding with current low pop unless you want to become the absolutely best farmer of soloplayers

Re: Incentives
Very true. Literally farming pugs for bags is the way of the boisband nowadays, which is why Fusion cba to play (though a lot of premades seem to love this)

Re: Incentives
Spoiler:
Completly put aside the "skill" aspect of all this and forget about turning this into serious epeen buisness anytime soon.
As much fun competitive play can be and would be, it won't happen anytime soon.
As to Peter's comments, I absolutely unterstand where hes coming from. Playing on a competitive level doesn't mean that you are an arrogant asshat. You want to play the game, have fun fights. You don't want to waste time sitting infront of a spawn, reading nonsensical rants or receive tells from people that can't get over losing in a video game.
The very point of competitive play is spending your time in a challenging way. Theres no challenge in fighting people that give up before the fight has started, or ragequit the moment they lose once.
Competitive play has nothing to do with **** players over. Theres no fun in that, in general. What most people consider roflstomping is considered <normally> playing the game, without any bad intent whatsoever, by premades.
E: PvE provides enough opportuntiy to get that dose of snoozefest most players apparently strive to experience. jfyi.
I've forgot the great snowflake potential you have in PvE, genociding all kinds of creatures and stuff, without ever speaking to anyone or losing - well, technically, if you tried really hard, you could lose.

So true, almost nobody responds to group calls depite having a group which works is the most fun you can have.Darosh wrote:That won't change for as long there are no people willing to group up to begin with.
I've recently logged a destro alt of mine, started up a group with some randoms...
You can guess how long that lasted, one wipe and all buggered off completly demoralized for no apparent reason whatsoever.
To even get remotely decent you have to either frequently play with each other or at the very least be open to criticism - or well, you know, get over a death in a videogame to begin with.
E: Not to mention how much of a struggle it is to bait out smth as simple as a "hello"...
Dying is no option.
