lifetaps range

Is it possible to limit the range of the lifetaps I´ll take that and balance essence without client control?
For example make it impossible to cast the lifetaps if your defensive target is too far away (what is "too far away" has to be defined... maybe 300 ft) and make a change of defensive target after starting the cast impossible?

I was by now too lazy to check the exact range of the lifetaps, but (I hope :D ) nobody would seriously deny that the range is ridiculous large. You can heal players in lord room of keeps from pve area through npc lifetapping and you reach every corner in scenarios, when you stand in the middle of the map.

Nerf on EoV/Green fury it's enough
Am/sh doesn't have the same amount and general armor of a Wp/DoK ,we have to stay a little bit in the back line.We need to see the enemies !it's not a spell that we can cast behind a wall or from 3 floor =|

The range is already limited. You have to be able to target the friendly player and the hostile target.
Dying is no option.

hm... I think you don´t understand my complain. I should have used "friendly target" instead of "defensive target".

What if I add to the "NPC story" that the two tanks I healed this way finished place 1 and 2 in contribution? We discussed it later and it had most likely other reasons, but I still think since this moment that this whole contribution system is somewhat rigged :D

Yes, and I think the range to target the friendly player is far to large. I have given examples.

shamans are harder to kill than a WP/DoK, tatic Whazat Behind You which means they got a 25% chance to automatically detaunt anyone who hits him and A LOT of stuff to help them to kite, remember to use your Detaunt when you play your AM and problem solved

It is possible to hide behind a tree and spam group heals. To lifetap you need range and LOS to someone that wants to kill you.

Thats why I think the heal-range should be larger than for group heals.

But I don´t share your fear about all these bears, harpys and ungors that roam around in pve areas.

I take your point but could you give examples of the keeps where you are able to exploit a nearby large group of mobs (not one lone boar) in the PVE zone to heal the lord room?

Edit: I still consider this npc-healing as a gimmick. You can´t outheal serious pressure from a lot of enemy players in lord room only with balance essence.

But the heal-range in scenarios is a more serious issue (mostly pug-based, granted). I mean, for example in talabec dam you stand at bomb start point (the island in the middle) and can heal the bomb-carrier up to the bomb dropping point without moving one ft away, if you have some enemies around you. You really don´t think that this range is too large?
