Re: [SW] Current Builds and Strategies

So i've been helping Guildies farm a lot of Ruin lately and was rocking the Expert Skirmisher > LA strategy and decided to run it full time as my 4th tactic just due to how much more it offers you than most other 4th tactics. Vs the melee train it's pretty nice to have some AoE, ES now is a .5s cast time for defensive purposes (mainly vs. WE's going on you or one of the healers), does more damage than SFA and for the extra 15 AP it's AoE with WAY higher DPS than a Split Arrows SFA, doesn't hurt your normal tactic of BHA>SS>SFA just gives you more options, and finally with a Guard and a healer looking out for you with UF and VoN you can melt their backline/most MDPS not Guarded or break up the melee train Destro loooves to run.

I know a lot of people don't like this build as much because you are going to die a lot more and it does just add a lot of fluff damage to you (in SC's) but it really does make a difference for defense and gives you a lot more viable variety to your Skirmish playstyle.

If anyone wants to know i'm just running PD/MA/ES/IA as a 40/4x wearing 3 Merc and 2 Ruin, Beithr & Shadowfeather, and stacking mainly Disrupt/BS on my Jewelry. For renown stacked dodge/disrupt and CW with extra points in Parry or BS. I'm finding pretty good success with this change to my playstyle.

With 280 BS gained through Tactics it's better to slot WS/wounds in Talis.

Get over 7k wounds in order to survive WS's KD burst. WE are your worst enemy when solo. BUt they are still beatable. First, you need wounds to survive her KD, second you need set up your BuffHead Addon to see enemy buffs, especially RD and Fleet Footed (snare immunity).

Your Whirling PIn won#t work when she pops RD or FF, so it's very important to track your oponents Buffs while knocked down. If she does not use them, you can Whirling Pin away ASAP (if she parries your WP, use the disarm from assault stance ).

After she uses Fleet Footed to remove the snare from WP, you have to use Flee and AP pot or pots to regen your AP and start pounding her. (dots, SFA ).

Use your HP pots to regen lost HP just in case she will reach you. And for Sigmars sake do NOT backpedal while running from her, use strife.

My 2 cents

I believe torque confirmed whirling pin is an undefendable attack, so it can't be parried, only countered with RD or FF like you said

Well it happend to my Sw few months ago back in t3, a we parried a couple of my WPs, maybe the devs changed something or it's bugged.

RD is your worst nightmare as SW, if you see mdps running at you, i would suggest to start with the takedown, as it forces him to use his snare breaker. They usually combine snare immunity with charge.

Your best bet is to soft counter it with flee plus Ap pots and hope for the best.
He will be 20% quicker then you, so he will be closing the gap really fast, if he hasn't poped rd yet just eye shot him to have that 3 more seconds on the run.

If the RD is on just wait it out. He will eventually reach you, so you have to switch to assault for double armor, drink your pink hot pot and detaunt him. If you survive that just WP away, kd him, and kill as he will have zero tools to counter your kiting.

Depends on spec, but here you go;
1) dot up, sfa until out of ap/ shammie below 50% hp, ap pot, rk, continue shooting. At this point you either kill him or snare, pot and run, as you only get one try.
2) snare, kite, hot pot, rkd when low, finish him off

Edit: using CW/M1 cleanse at the appropriate moment helps. But I dont spec CW or RD out of principle. (Easymode get out of prison free cards)
