WH survival build?

Is it possible to build a WH to be atleast somewhat survivable in toe to toe combat? I really like the style of the class, but when I played it during live, I would just get blown up right after coming out of stealth. Maybe just a "git gud" problem.

Curious what experienced WH think.

Forget about survival mode, you need fast kill and fast run away ! All for crit, str, parry 30%. All semidef or def stealth classes its nonsense

Those where my Dueling specs back in the day. They worked quite well solo ganking, or PUGing in SCs. The basic, is to give yourself repel blasphemy and shroud of Magnus so you don't go POP! That, alongside M1 should give you enough time to get a DB or 2, or gtfo. Always remember your Self Punt can be used for Survival, or(if your clever and have good timing) an aggressive Pounce to get that final DB.

Your abso hit's really hard, you can chain shots, and the crit% on abso, means you can dump your RR into Avoidance, and still be able to get those crits you need.

At the end of the day, "survival" spec just means that you might live long enough to get that DB before you die. You need to maintain a certain lvl of DPS just to be viable. And your class is VERY gear dependant...

WH is the absolute king of Dueling though, imo. Gl!

Experiment with different builds. But get in the habit of changing your tactics based on your opposition. You will perform FAR better.

Repel + BaL spec with the shroud of magnus. Have 2 different tactics sets: brute force and 50% crit dmg on both and riposte + 10% parry/flanking against melee and vindication + flanking against magic casters. Against SHs prolly flanking and whatever.

Left tree will let you have short bursts of immunity to everything but sh dmg. As shaggy says get a few tactic sets and when you pick your targets know which set is going to help you the most, you know don't run riposte stuff against a sorc.

It really is a git gud problem in the sense of picking when to engage and what is paramount to success. However this may very well mean you will be sitting somewhere for 15 minutes before you see something that isn't a zerg, 6 man, or you have sufficient help to get in and get out of a fight. I'm just not patient enough to do that and find myself happily suiciding for a kill over and over again even if it isn't glamorous.

You need to kill asap, if any rdps gets out of melee range of you before significant damage is done you are pretty much toast. Without double heal debuff a healer will easily stabilize and laugh you off if you don't burst in the first few seconds. A lot of similar situations.

Fight in areas with lots of Los so you can stealth out of a fight without being interrupted etc....
