I agree that the Assault stance shouldn't be a dedicated melee class - instead it should used in conjuction with ranged attacks.

Stance dancing should be mandatory for this class to be effective.

This is excatly the Point = Flexibility !!!
I wish the Mara or Choppa/Slayer has this Kind of flexibility.
SW got a huge buff and I hope the Dev`s will look for the MDPs classes as well, cause I feel them underpowered compared to the RDPs classes.
With my Marauder I now have 3 Options to fight a SW, getting shot down and kited before I can reach him or beeing killed in Melee combat....
Or third Option, run away as fast as I can....

I have received 1k Crits in Melee combat with SWs, so they do this Kind of damage like a MDPS class, have a ranged KD, have a jump back where they always get out of melee range and always the choice of kiting and range damage.

In fight with a Engi I receive so much damage before I can reach him, that iam dead as well before I can start to do damage.
I feel the pain of a Melee DPS class like Slayer, Marauder, Choppa And now blame me for a whine thread if you realy Need or want....but I feel there is too much pain and less sun for this MDPS classes atm and I feel the Forum here is the only way to talk about it.
Maybe other Maras or Choppas/Slayer have different thoughts and feel fine with this classes.
Question for me is, why should there a MDPs when the RDPs can do the things better and much more comfortable. For a shining MDPs (not WE/WH) you Need always a Team with tank and heal. If you play most of the time allone, you need to suffer the pain or to Play another class.
I would suggest for this classes there must be something like ranged KD as well (on demand!!!) and maybe ranged snare/pounce or a "Shield bubble" to have a Chance to get to the fight and not to die honorless.

The Advantage in Warhammer RoR is always at the Ranged Classes. Why not going to make this more challanging?

not wanting to defend RDPS... since I too concurr that MDPS at the moment are a little underperforming compared to them but...

for SW to deal high melee damage it can't have the ranged KD (unless they are RR80 and had foregone their melee KD that hit much harder), the jump back require for at least one opponent to be subjected to the snare component of the skill... if you get immunity before (or doddge it... since the snare is defendable), not only you will not get snared but the SW will stay in place with a 1sec useless animation ^^, you also got an AOE kd... use it as soon as they start kiting when they are still within reach... if they want to kite they have to be in skirmish and won't have the double armor, making them a KDed squishy ;)

As a Marauder I have to spend 10 Points in a more or less useless AOE Skilltree for getting a KD....makes no sence....and in the end it is not the Point of having a opportunity somewhere in a worst skilltree, its the Point of NEED them to have a chance.

and the SW nedd 13 point in mastery to get their single target RKD now ^^they also need 11 point in their melee mastery to get good melee dmg (50% increased crit dmg ONLY FOR MELEE SKILL)... so you are lamenting the need to spend point to get an utility (and quite the good utility) in order to counter a single specific spec.. that seem like quite the fare trade... a specific spec need other some specific tool... tool that are actualy not really useless in other circumstances... so yea... fair tread ;)

If you're dying to a melee SW as a marauder then you're doing everything wrong.

I can't believe my eyes, these people are talking that it's a fair trade to be garbage in both rdps and mdps roles...
No wonder why I'm rolling only skirmish stance. RKD+init debuff, 5% crit, heal debuff, dot dmg, most viable single target skill and the only spammable aoe skill...
That's a trade, folks.
Sell your brains and Save your nerves - you'll be the best, it's Skirmish stance!
