It is. We did a wipe of inactive characters towards the end of Summer 2016. Our justification was that T4 had been out for months, anyone who we figured had a significant investment in the game would have returned for the launch (or some time in the following months), and the rest wouldn't be at much of a loss since the power curve would have moved forward significantly since then.

Of course, we regret the decision to do so, and will not be doing any wipes in the future. However, they are gone. Unrecoverable.

Hey, good news is, the leveling process is much more enjoyable now that tiers merged. So frankly OP, if you want to come back I wouldn't see this as a negative but maybe a positive. It'll take you NO TIME to get back to tier 3 and you'll learn the new mechanics along the way. Games changed since t3. Hope you enjoy it.

I disagree with your statement. I realy dislike leveling in any game. I can understand it is a good way to learn mechanics. But as many of us we played so many mmorpg's that we get the mechanics down in no time. Now i get a email stating the game has progressed alot and i should return.

I return, to then notice my 3 toons of level 36 i believe are gone. And i read here they are not recoverable. Well sorry to say but i don't wanne grind again. I tought a small grind to max level would not take that long.

But this is a strange logic. I don't know how big the save files are but you could have taken a backup somewhere or give the people a token to recreate a character they originaly had. Or something similar.

I don't feel like playing again from scratch and the boring leveling.

Yeah I loaded up a new toon that I didn't play the first time around, was sad to see that pvp quests got changed slightly . Was nice being able to pick up pvp quests for each tier and then queue into scenarios to complete them. Now scenarios seem to be giving minimal xp and are longer queues. Will see how this progresses though

I can add that indeed, the tables containing all the character information have changed quite drastically since the purge and as such even if we had backups they would no longer work without quite some work, and in regards to size, the DB for characters is quite massive, its not a few KB we are talking here.

So to clarify (if it was not clear already), no character restores are going to happen for multiple reasons. Sorry but you are going to have to start again if you want to play again.

Also with the changes to the RVR system you only need to get to 16 to start with the big RVR campaign, so its not that much work to get back into the game again
