I played WAR at launch for a few months but I can't seem to be able to figure out how to cap influence. Granted I have only played through T1 so far, but it does not seem to be consistent. For example, if I am sitting defending a point, sometimes I get +1 INF per tick, other times +3 INF, once I even had +8 INF each tick. Is it known what exactly affects these numbers?
I am interested mostly because joining RVR right away, I ended up having no-gear for a long time before I managed to cap INF with something; I was counting on those rewards becuase from what I remembered from launch, I could cap all three regions before outleveling it. Yet on my RP, but playing only around 15% PVE I am level 15/20 with only one region capped, the other 2 not even at the first tier of reward.
How do INF awards work in RVR tiers?

The vendors in t1 warcamps sell items too. You can get random drops from player kills. Rvr inf gear is only one source of gear.
You can cap all zones long before you outlevel t1 by actively playing rvr.
Fight in zones with opposition and don't follow the zerg.
Kills with aao bonus, when your enemy outnumbers you, are very rewarding.

Does aao bonus only apply region-wise though? Is there any benefit in looking for an outnumbered fight in a zone where your faction is overpopulated?
Re: How do INF awards work in RVR tiers?
It applies to whole region. When 2 zones are open, the chances are high that your own zerg is in one, and several enemies are in other zone. When possible, go in zones where you are underdog. 1-2 kills can give you as much or significantly more xp/rp/inf as a whole zone lock reward, when your side zergs.thesaltyknight wrote:Does aao bonus only apply region-wise though? Re: How do INF awards work in RVR tiers?
Thanks.
Today I tested out how much Influence I would get with the buff maxed out. Two kills + enemy locking the zone netted me more than 1000 INF.
I don't understand why in T1 the two zergs seem to avoid eachother, each taking one zone. Either everyone is a new player and does not know this or for some reason they prefer the zerg, as unrewarding as it may be.

This game is a fascinating microcosm of modern warfare. Nobody commits unless they have overwhelming superiority.thesaltyknight wrote:Thanks.

So tou get zergs running around avoiding a fight unless they can easily over run the opponent.

Avoiding fights usually happens, when 2 zones with equal value are open at the same time.thesaltyknight wrote:Thanks.

This player behaviour might be frustrating but offers chances for huge rewards, when you search the fight. Even better when you manage to get a group.

Send a strong 6 man into an AAO area and watch the exp/rr/inf pour in.Sulorie wrote:Avoiding fights usually happens, when 2 zones with equal value are open at the same time.thesaltyknight wrote:Thanks.
