Just to clarify: I meant that it's possible to log sc data, not that it's been going on since my last conversation with Azarael.wargrimnir wrote: There's still nothing in the DB recording scores.
There's still nothing in the server logs recording scores.
A scenario scoreboard can be represented as a single json string. Addons like Dascore use this already to allow you to see scoreboards of scs you've played in the past. If an addon can get that information through the API it's trivial to log in on the server.GodlessCrom wrote:What is the timeframe of the data you desire? What tiers of pvp should they provide? What level of detail in terms of win/loss is even recorded: i.e. is it possible to distinguish between PuG scenario and others? Is it possible to determine which end prematurely due to insufficient players? Or which end with one side "victorious" via pve BO capture but farmed 50-0 n actual pvp? How long does it take to collect this data, who will do it, who will collate it and present it in an easily digestable fashion for the forum readers?
And thats not even all the questions that would need to be answered to make sense of this data. Stats like this are meaningless without context, analysis, and interpretation.
Even if only the last 12 hours of scenarios are made public at a time it would be enough for someone to start building up a database. Once you have the data you can start asking questions like the ones you brought up. You have timestamps for start and end, you have victory points for both factions, you have deathblows and deaths for each player and you know their classes and ranks. If a scenario ends 500 to 0 in 3 minutes was it a pug stomp? If Destruction has all the deathblows but Order wins 500 to 100 would that indicate a "pve victory"? These are interesting questions to figure out.
I think it would be cool to have a large data set, run a couple of queries, plot a couple of graphs and have some fun with it like I did with server population.
