[Shadow Warrior] Positioning help sorely needed.

One point I found helpful to teach me kiting and positioning on my healer was to force myself to cast 2-3 abilities that required standing still and then move regardless of situation. When instant casting i forced myself to never stand still and always strafe left or right.

I agree with the others posts by SW plays regarding range, being able to judge distance well is a key.

Pre-kite and play paranoid.

Dont look at SHs and think you can kite the same way. They have stacking speed thingies wich makes them gods of kiting. But SWs have other things. a SW can take more dmg if needed. Try to drop some dps and add more survivalbility and nuke ppl in close range .
Assault stance-armordebuff,3 dots and spam the shots. I also get violated in most fights but this last strategy have granted me a few wins.

Even though you might know already and since you did not write any details of your experience.. some basics, most important ones though:

Turn off smart follow camera and rebind "strafe left"/right" to "A"/"D". Using default setting renders any effort in learning to kite utterly pointless

If you did not change this yet, that was the biggest part of your problem!
You may strafe and still cast behind you (=kiting^^) while being as fast as walking with W

..after turning smart follow Off you want to become as paranoid as possible using the now free camera and check 360° permanently to be aware of inc and dont get greedy
In my experience -> anticipation is 80% of kiting = know your enemy+try to predict movement.

Kite them > get hit over 65ftby a 5ft snare because of lag > self punt fails without a reason > panic and run like a headless chicken > die and blame healers > blame realm in advice chat > log destro.

Thats how i like to play mine
