I like the system as it is. It's not so much mirrowing as borrowing.
Take Mara, in principle the 3 mutations are like the SW's three stances but in practice the three Mutations are actualy more similar to the SM's three enchantments.
Each faction has a set of unique and playable classes and it works.
Just wish Order had more variety in mount selection, Dessie mounts are much cooler than Order's.

Re: Cross-mirror versus Strict mirror
Strict mirrors are super boring imho. I liked the system as it was on live, neither does the SH need a pounce nor do we need beastmasters and captains, every time when i listen to the chat i get the impression that these classes are born from tears about the opposite faction.

Re: Cross-mirror versus Strict mirror
Hey, I feel honored by all the discussion input from every player. RoR player base and Devs/Mods are simply some of the best damned folks to game with in my history of gaming.
Additionally, I am a fanboi of Penril since live, and really appreciate his stated 'insurance clause' in keeping RoR's cross mirroring. To reiterate: that was, for me, one of the most compelling reasons to run, not walk, away from the snowy white MMO I played for years prior. That and the impending sanguine elf apocalypse at the time.
I also hold in high esteem the continued endeavors of every one of the incredible staff who own RoR, and support fully the truth that this is THEIR game, and as such they are Gawd. I am just terribly grateful to be able to log in to my home sweet home away from home after the dEAth squad hit the lights. I am not worthy. You guys/gals punch, I will roll, in eternal gratitude.
Finally, to reiterate once more, paraphrasing Tesq: RoR uniqueness is twofold; cross mirrors give life and flavor to our world, and (with emphasis) the 'strict mirroring' that is (too) often bandied about (in my opinion) ALREADY exists albeit in a form some are not accustomed to, and if arriving in RoR from an MMO that was built on strict mirrors, takes a bit of getting used to; in the form of THE GROUP as THAT is where those seeking strict mirrors will experience what they desire!
Choosing not to group in RoR, as in live, will most likely cause more than a bit of frustration to players who desire arse kicking solo mirrors. Conversely, those who adjust and break that solo mold are often elated at how affective group synergy is as employed in RoR, just the same as those who learned to practice that play style in live. Indeed, it's the heart of this game, in my opinion.
Finally-finally, as to the suggestion of making this game 'group only': W.A.R. was envisioned and originally intentioned to be just that. Another highly compelling reason I desired to 'live' here as opposed to that solo freezer of an MMO. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that fundament laid down by W.A.R.'s creators was met with vehement outrage by more than a few who purported wanting a 'different' experience than what was then currently available. The nasty term "forced grouping" was coined, and the rest of that idea is now history. Many facets of W.A.R. that had players chomping at the bit for the release of what started as a game-world wide group centric, hence the term Realm versus Realm as opposed to Player versus Player; ONE realm per account - period; kill or be killed, losing the ability to use even basic NPC services within your realm's main city (for often longer than 24 hours) if your realm pussed out and didn't fight beyond tooth and nail (quite often for 8 or more consecutive hours of play in constant battle) for every scrap along the way , your ruling Lord butchered, their pieces delivered to furthest corners of your realm as further humiliation; were destroyed by these same 'change-desiring' prospective players prior to and immediately after launch, giving way to the 'cater to the masses' ideology plaguing the very world(s) those same players discussed they wanted no more of. W.A.R.'s fundamentals were viewed as so brutal that the late coming investors jerked that game's steering wheel almost completely out of the original 'driver's' hands to the great disappointment of thousands of eager players. At the time, the opinionated opposition numbered in the millions. They tanked the only game in which all of the opinions could have had their cake and eaten it too. But hard work is hard, and it's work, and that doesn't make investors happy, the last of them being dEAth squad. Am I still mad bro?
There's a special place in MMO hell for them (which is purely my opinion; I also reserve the right to be wrong).
Long live RoR. Blessed beyond measure am I for it, and should our Devs/Mods forever be for their incredible genorosity and DAILY sacrifices for something they love, played by folks who sometimes don't love them back. And sincere thanks again to everyone that read my OP and moreso to those who got in on the discussion. Me love you all very long time.
Good hunting!
