Garrus wrote: Problem is, the quests reward almost null xp (it's far better to grind mobs over and over xp and time wise), PQs are not fun because no ppl play them most of the time and solo gets boring quickly. Then there's t1 lair that after 16 can't be accessed (and it could be the coolest content until t4).

Also, please don't say I'm on my 15th alt when I just mentioned a few posts ago that I only just began and am on my 29 lvl. This alt I am making is an effort to try something different because of the grind getting seriously boring after doing same thing over and over. I wouldn't mind xp grind if there was PvE stuff to do, but from everything I have seen so far (from the eyes of a new guy) it's really lacking in PvE.
Right then.

If you're grinding mobs, by definition, it should feel grindy. You're not doing anything of consequence. If you find that boring, why are you playing an MMO?

If you do the quests, they will take you from camp to camp, leveling you up appropriately as you go. If you find that boring, why are you playing an MMO?

As per my previous post, if you group up with 2-5 other players in your level range and tackle some of the content that's slightly more challenging, you will be rewarded and level up as well. If you don't want to group up in order to optimally advance through the game, why are you playing an MMO?

We're not exactly aiming to cater to the lowest common denominator like some other mass market MMO's are trying to do. We don't make money off this game, and would honestly rather have players looking for the experience we're offering which is significantly more hardcore than some of the theme-park solo adventure MMO's out there.

i would like to make a small suggestion, afaik on live you got a nice amount of XP for finishing a PQ stage, maybe give us ther a bit XP , im not sure if it is like that here, didn´t watch while grinding ruin if u get some for finishing, but at least u should be able to earn more then influence for it .

if u get XP well i never said anything :D

Still not sure how increasing how much rested XP you can have is going to be game breaking and stop people from enjoying the content, but ok. In my eyes it still accomplishes your objective for new players, while making it slightly more bearable for repeat players. They still have to kill mobs, do PQs, scenarios, RvR, and quests, as they choose, in order to level.

Yes I am full aware that our opinions don't matter, it is your game, you could care less if anyone plays it, and players aren't even worth treating as fellow human beings. No need to repeat that, I get it.

Knowing that, I am still going to say that if you want to encourage people to mix things up and actually get out and see the entire game and all the game modes, normalizing the time/effort vs reward balance between the various activities better is the way to go (it is not now).

Perhaps increase the quest XP, reduce random mob XP, and drastically increase mob XP if they are part of an active and incomplete quest step. Then also increase xp gained when losing scenarios so people stuck repeatedly with bad plays still have incentive to queue.

This would take grinding mobs completely out of the equation, because instead of being MORE efficient for leveling, it would be far far less. Players would queue scenarios and run around the world questing as the primary form of leveling. One game I played in the past has a similar system and it was actually fun to level up.

Not sure how to factor PQs in there ....have to get some work done and will put that on the back burner.

You arrogantly assume you represent more than yourself and wonder why you are ignored?

Heh

I've played other mmos, just get tired of all these powerleveling whines. Tired of this "gimme everything, now, for nothing" modern culture in general to be honest.

My original point was not the ins and outs of levelling and content, but to allow a player to decide what and when to play, and to be rewarded for having a lot of alts or rerolling after a hard slog on one toon.

Why should you be rewarded?
