Post#1 » Sat Feb 28, 2015 11:20 am

I get the following failure message. I also tried to run the launcher as admin but it didn`t work.

Error starting: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Spiele\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\WAR.exe' is denied.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode)
at RoRLauncher.Client.patchExe()
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)

Is your launcher in the same folder like the WAR.exe and not in a special folder?

Run launcher as Administrator, make sure the folder isn't set to "read only".

This can be done by right clicking the game folder > properties > uncheck "Read Only" > OK.

I didn't have this issue with Windows 10, but I did encounter it with Windows 8.1.1.

Thankfully there is a lot of good advice here, and yes, I fixed it by changing the folder/file attributes to *not* ready only.

I am having this issue and have tried to start it as admin and its in the same folder as war.exe but I'm still getting the issue. Is there another alternative?
