Anyone else having issues with mailing items?

For the past couple of months I've noticed every time I send items over the mail, some of these items go missing. As today i encountered this with a decayed Staff, which I believe the problem was me not having enough room in my inventory, so the item has now vanished and is no longer attached to the mail nor in my bag. I was just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems or I'm just an unlucky idiot?

Don't open mails with full backpack. Mail works unless your inventory is full. The item is lost.
