Can't create a character

Greetings.
So I've got the latest version of the game downloaded and the special launcher yet when I log in
there is no way for me to create a character.

I've changed the password to this account but that didn't do anything.
Disabling AVG while logging in did nothing either.

Only thing I haven't done is make a new account.

If you're getting this line of code in your error log:

You need to rebuild performance counters.

How to manually rebuild performance counters:

1. Go to start, and type in the search box "cmd". Right click cmd, and run as administrator.

2. Type into the cmd console "lodctr /r".

3. It will take a few seconds to perform the command.

Performance counters should be rebuilt. Try loading the game, again.

Ensure read only is disabled.

Did you download it via the torrent link? If so, make sure the torrent is not active while you're playing (better yet, move the game folder to a more logical location).
