IIRC, recent changes made taking/defending BOs a bigger part of contribution than before (sweet renown ticks too), and also now rewards Tanks/Healers contribution for "playing their role" though the devs haven't explained what exactly to prevent gaming the system.

I have no idea if K:D is counted but killing absolutely does. I generally roam solo with a focus on taking BOs, and get a plenty of kills with individual credit where I get loot and many where I've at least tagged the target, and my contribution at the end as indicated by "You've been rewarded for your small/modest/stalwart/valiant effort" message on zone lock is quite easy to predict based primarily on how much killing I've done, particularly the amount of kills where I got main credit.

It's important to remember that a dry spell on bags isn't necessarily an indication of how much you're contributing--there is an RNG element and both the bag roll itself and the bonus on next roll gained from contribution appear to be much lower if the enemy team has high aao.

Basically for playing your class and playing objectives in the zone, which are capping BOs, holding them, ranking your realm rank and defending / taking opponents keep.

Maybe because there is a MASSIVE imbalance in class roles between Order and Destro and it makes the server look bad when one side consistently loses because every tank and healer on it would rather DPS?

Do you have statistical evidence to show which side loses due to this or is it a feeling based on your experience of past weeks?
Suffering on both sides and being a dirty xrealmer, I have witnessed both sides going full retard at times and playing like headless chickens and losing despite enemy barely standing a chance.

There are three kind of loldps.
Spoiler:
Derp A:
Plays a loldps spec and expects everyone to adapt and cut slack, whilst fighting an uphill battle given the loldps spec. I.e. the bruteforce approach.

Derp B:
Plays a loldps spec and builds a group around it, not bothering anyone but the group (of which all members have agreed in advance to play with a not-so optimal specced derp amongst them). I.e. the reasonable approach.

Derp C:
Plays a loldps spec but doesn't build a group around it - doesn't expect everyone to adapt and cut slack, instead adapts on his/her own and changes specs/loadout to match the requirements of an engagement. I.e. the considerate approach.
I don't see an issue with an emphasis being put on archetype performance... those not playing in accordance to their archetype might not get that a little pat on the back, but still get contribution through their loldpsing - as would a dps archetype. Provided they make an effort to make their approach to the game work.

If you want to play like a dps archeytype, you'll have to play by their rules:
You share a pool with every m/rdps there is, and every m/rdps needs a group to perform properly - or needs to majorly up their game, e.g.: get a pot economy running and min/max to match the format (= soloroam, duoroam, what have you) that is being played in.
