Hi guys,

I need to know if 2 people not in a party kill the same mob. What is the proper way to determen who gets the loot. I have heard multi ways and I need a direct answer so I can start working on the fix.

Thanks,

I guess most damage dealt to a mob was a win situation

first one with a successful hit sounds the way to go here, since they are not in a party

First one to 'tag' the target. Then his/her group get to loot if some join while tagged.

You could tag a lair boss for instance. Let another party kill. Then loot it while they get pissy.

Some guy kept doing this to the t1 trials that didnt know for ages once. Chat was hilarious.

When tagging is all you have to do, others can kill the mob with "tanking" and "most damage done" and you get the loot. Doesn't sound reasonable.

EDIT:
On the other hand I read some old forum threads where it was explained a little bit. Mob XP is shared and based on damage/heal/threat level and equally shared in groups. The loot is for the first player/group who hit the mob until it resets.

It wasnt and it was abused. Thats how it worked though.

Ive had someone try this on me before at a lair. When I offered party and he refused twice pulled and expected me to help and heal him. Luckily I knew and let him die then killed it myself. Then got abuse in broken english in region about it.

Id think anyone doing over a certain amount of damage tanking or healing should get to roll. Even then you might end up with a gw2 Orr situation where dot classes have no hope vs the zerg over lair/event mobs.

the one who gets the deathblow. or successful hits compared to % of life at 100% if you get deathblow you get additional 25% of getting the drop. or do the random or roll method.

Drop goes to party who stars hiting, and roll for item amongst party members.

Mob was indicated (grey name) for all others to know they wont get lot)

Exp was divided regarding to battle contribution.

This system got pros and cons - there are no situation this way some stlealthy hard hitter will hit last strike. It also gives chances for healers who can deal small damage but survive more.
