New Launcher Issues

Some feedback from me after successfully patching: Apart from starting the patch process (got socket errors on the first two tries) and logging in 2x with the third login everything is fine, no add-ons reset it seems and UI looks good.

Unless you already figured out something causing issues I can say that I also did not have much problems when setting up the game like 1,5 years ago, so it really must be some client- or profile-based issues that cause the problems, because I assume that everyone gets the same files.

I can only advise people to do all the steps describes in the stickies, so maybe try to fully re-download the game and set it up as described, if there are any problems at all. All I had to do iirc was to adjust the folder acl (NTFS permission) and run as administrator.

Hope you figure out what's wrong though!

I did not redownload the game. Just updated the launcher. Only issue i had was that the war-64.exe was missing. After copying the file to the game folder manually the game started and ingame as far as i can tell everything is there and working.

The only minor issue with the launcher is that every restart of the launcher the connect button stays greyed out (hitting enter in the pw field get´s the game started) .

I can get past the launch to launch the game. Then the background and music appear and it doesn't go any further.

I have redownloaded and reinstalled 3 times. Deleted the cache, run as admin, changed folder permissions, disabled AV, and firewall. Nothing seems to work. Been at this for about 5 hours now.

I started troubleshooting it from the network level and found that once WAR-64 starts an SYN is sent to your Amazon server but an ACK is never received. I verified my firewall is set to allow all communications for war-64.

Help, please.

after two days got to where I could get to an empty character screen, but game would not connect to server. I have tried everything I can think of, so in place of ritual suicide, I have purged all evidence of the game from my hard drive and in process of using torrent to download a new copy. I will begin again tomorrow after work.

It looks like you are having the same problem as I am where the server is not providing an ACK to your SYN. What A/V firewall are you using? Just curious if we are using the same.

Wow, I must be in the minority: The update ran smoothly and the game was without any issues the first time I opened it with the new launcher.

The "connect" button is still grey for me, but as people mentioned pressing enter instead of clicking it does the trick.

Ok. After some hours with a non functionning version (lot of errors) have tried many things and finally succeded to make it work.
Please note my tech abilities are near to 0 .

Follow the steps below (dont miss one) it may help.
Ready?
Here we go.

• Step 01 : Open game folder and check "mythloginserviceconfig.xml" properties : It MUST NOT be read only. Uncheck "read only" property if checked. Verify ten times if needed. When done go step 02.

• Step 02 : Lets start "RoRUpdater.exe" (admin mode is always a better choice). It should download and replace "RoRLauncher.exe". When done, go to step 03.

• Step 03 : Start "RoRLauncher.exe" (admin mode is always a better choice). It should verity/download some files (some minutes). Don't enter any info (log or pass) at this precise moment. Wait it finishes its little wawa. When done, go to Step 04.

• Step 04 : give your login and password, then press "ENTER" (to validate your password mostly). "CONNECT" button should still be grey. Anyway. Go to step 05.

• Step 05 : Click on "CONNECT"

It should work. You'll probably have to restart your launcher/game 1-3 times to dowload some file, but you should have done the hardeest part following these simple steps.

In the end of the story, the "CONNECT" button sholud be yellow, and nothing more should be downloaded

note :

- There is nothing related with wrong password. If you have wrong login/password error, you have probably forgotten it or mistyped it (or your login..) .

- We apologize but this very annoying (for us too) test phase is essential to move on this project.

- War 64bit shouldn't be an issue.

I can't even find the mythloginserviceconfig.xml file. I get to the menu screen but there's only the 4 buttons down the bottom of the screen.
