Could you clarify who exactly expelled him from the team in response to what specific threat?
Sure.

The Q&A was discussed by the team beforehand. There was talk of briefly going over what has changed with Torque in the past couple of months and what we expect to see in the future. Spending 90 minutes uninterrupted to list every single instance in the perspective of the victim with no recourse about the sins of the past that were dealt with, and then demanding he be fired before moving on, WHILE holding keys to source code and internal chats, that comes off like a threat to me and the rest of the team.

Aza had all the time in the world to discuss any of this with the leads before the Q&A. He opted to go nuclear option instead.

Diplomacy is peace. That travesty in the Q&A was a declaration of war. Aza and Asuryan vs the rest of the team.
Is it true that Torque is referring to all of us as "shitters" in internal communications?
That would be absolutely false.

He only refers to shitters as shitters. Everyone is far too broad a category.

I would wonder how other people refer to staff in private conversations?

Aza coming back was followed by a period of rapid positive change for the server. If he's gone now, the future seems pretty bleak to me. At the very least, a lot more so than it would have been otherwise, and this isn't at all because I really have any hostility or negativity towards Torque or Wargrim. I'm judging from what's been accomplished and I simply believe Azarael is what would eventually lead RoR to best version of itself it could be.

Worst part is that he wasn't done with the reworks. Everything that was WIP is dead in the water at this point. And no one in the current team has Azas vision or will to listen to feedback.

If this was his goal coming back onto the team, then all of our hopes have been shattered. There's no way we can trust someone that would plot for months the best way to destroy a current team member.

To say I'm shocked and bewildered this is the path he chose would be an understatement.

I am curious as to the actual genesis of the question which initiated the Epic Rant. The whole episode smacks of a set up to me.

Az has a point to make, someone post the perfect question/opportunity for him to make that point, and no one during the entire hour long Grand Airing Of The Dirty Laundry interferes. Meanwhile the APOC Discord crowd is laughing themselves half to death. Hard to believe the whole affair was a surprise to everyone.

It was absolutely a setup. We discussed the content of the Q&A beforehand. We were assured it wouldn't go on like that. The idea was a brief explanation, not a witch hunt. Acknowledge, address, move on.

So what would have been acceptable? A brief statement about how some people in the past have abused their power and we will(the devs) do better in the future?

As I was listening to the stream I could hear something wrong in his voice but I guess this is what it comes down to.
Zany though it might have been I kinda liked the good ol' Aza and I know he will be sorely missed among the RoR population.
And maybe it's a good thing after all, having a fresh start for everyone to enjoy, a clean slate as you will.
Don't think for a minute that the devs here will leave you hanging I bet they have a number of great updates incoming already.
It matters not what happened in the past, I say let bygones be bygones.
Damage has been done and we should move on.
Nevertheless, it seems to me there is a good number of players who might disagree with the current management.
Overall feelings, it seems to me, are quite positive.
The future, therefore, looks quite bright to me, gentlemen.
Hence my post of mild encouragement on these here forums.
Indeed, I could have stayed silent but I feel these words needed to be said.
No amount of pleading will undo the occurrences which transpired tonight.
Going off on the management will do no good either.
Whenever such things happen withing a community it's best to just let it go and have faith in our devs.
Realistically, I believe this to be the best option overall.
On a side note, I've noticed quite a few posts here trying to insert some kind of a message between the lines.
Not that I have anything against that sort of thing but it kind of undermines what the devs and admins are trying to do here.

Thanks for Q&A Session. Especially thanks for professionalism to maxhayman, Hargrim (great job! But I disagree with your claim that playerbase is strictly progression based. ) and to some extend Wagrimmir (although your respond to roleplay-GM question shows the exact behaviour why you still should be removed from the project. Sad thing is, I am pretty sure you are not even aware of this).

Some really interesting things in the pipeline with client control (daily quests?!) and good that you will stick to the actual system (or even improving it) of gaining gear, but we will see how/if this server continue to exist.
