You are hitting dummies, that's the problem. Should work perfectly against anything but them. You will notice the same issue if you try to cast it from the front outside of a NB rotation, it doesn't gray out against dummies.

Against dummies you have move a bit around them to find the right spot for rear attacks.
Dying is no option.
