Could anyone with experience, or maybe even a Dev, tell me how Armor penetration (AP) is calculated?
Let's asssume I'm playing a Blackguard that has a 25% AP with his standard attack and an addition 23% AP with my Weapon Skill (WS).
Is the AP stacked, or is one calculated before the other, e.g. first the skill, then the WS.
Just as example:
Armor of 100:
First Skill -> Armor reduced to 75%
Second WS -> 75 Armor*0,23= 57,75 Armor left?
Thanks in advance =),

A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

Probably the bit you are looking for from the topic Bozaxx linked to...
"...
anything that says it ignores a % of armour/resistances, does so at the END of the armour/resistance VALUE calculation, and is multiplicative.
abilities that ignore a set value of armour/resistances, do so at the beginning of the armour/resistance VALUE calculation and is additive.

Re: Armor Penetration Questions....
Yes, the stat weapon skill reduces the Armor value on the enemy for your attacks. There are also armor ignoring tactics and abilities, as well as armor debuffs that reduce the enemies armor for a fixed value.
Re: Armor Penetration Questions....
Most of those armor ignoring abilities are positional and need to be cast behin dthe target in order to have any effect!

Re: Armor Penetration Questions....
Hello,
I've done some testing with a shadow warrior to test how weapon skill affects damage in RvR. In PvE, armor penetration does not work as mobs doesn't have an armor rating yet.
On live servers, I had done testings to see if WS affects also the long range attacks with bow : it did. The overall damage at distance using the same skill or auto-attack was better in assault stance than in skirmish stance. Assault stance increases WS. The best damage with long range attacks was attained in scout stance all the same, so the increase in ballistic skill had more effect than the increase in WS.
On RoR server, WS doesn't seem to affect long range physical attacks. With my SW, the damage is exactly the same in assault or skirmish stance, using auto-attack or the same skill.
I wasn't able to see how WS affects melee attacks, as the increase in strength while in assault stance is biasing the test.
