Can't go wrong with Dwarfs. The ironbreaker looks badass 8-)

IB is great fun. And it is offensively quite capable. Its not a SM or else, but its good enough. I've had a blast for 4 years on mine.

might i suggest this to strengthen your dwarvish resolve mate :
Farfadet, RR72 shaman
Volgograd, RR80 IB

kmark101 wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:48 pm IB is only mediocre offensively because it is the only tank in the game that has only physical damage type in their arsenal. Every single other tank class has either a magic basic damage type or an armor bypass (%) ability. IB supposed to have an armor debuff ability to counter this, but the armor ratings are so high in the current meta that IB is unable to make a difference. Thus, being at the bottom by far, until some of it's abilities damage type changed (for example the dots to corp?) or it's armor debuff isn't inceased by a decent value (or general armor stats are nerfed in the whole game).
Thats theory.

Now go check Volgo and some other outstanding IBs outta there :)

Ramasee wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:42 pm You can account for the variables. Gear and abilities info is widely available. As the formulas. Ironbreaker has the highest effective health points on order faction. This is from a mathmatetical analysys.
but whilst you can somewhat relaibly control who you are fighting with, you have no idea who you will be fighting against. you also have to consider the tasks that an snb is expected to perform - holding a line in a wb, guarding in small scale, or even turtling a flag in an sc. i do not think the same class is best at all three of these for both realms

an IB holding the line or fighting in a siege may have trouble keeping all of their buffs up, whereas a knight fighting in small scale may have their vigilance perma severed

Tanks are and have always been this way: knight/chosen>ib/bg>sm/bo in the definition of Tankage get tanky enough and about the only thing that can kill you is 3+ people with perma-snare dmg scales down the tank ladder sm/bo being on top but also easiest to kill, its how the game was made to be played yes ib/bg is the middle man, lil more dmg than cho/kobts lil more tankage than sm/bo but will never out perform the other classes in 1 or the other

Nice to get such a massive flux of comments and information on this matter. Obviously I am aware Shield means you are more suited towards larger scale or defensive point holding combat rather than murk squading. It is just good to know what people think in regards to such things.

I like my SM but I'm intensely jealous of IB's ability to self sustain. I want a self heal thats worth a ****, damnit.

yeah SM losing it's bubble spec and unique self sustain abilities was really sad, it's not that i don't like the new stuff but i don't understand why the off-meta yet fun stuff was wiped and not the completely useless pve tactics

i've heard tale that knight/chosen are not such here due to a lack of high end regen gear that was counted on on live, though i have played neither to 40+ on this server

Considering the only build chosen has atm is s/b which even with less regen im still a god we are meant to be tanky tanks especially now that chosens dmg tree is borked and on the list to be fixed if we werent the best all around tanks chosen would be broke worse than wl but even with broken dmg tree we got turtletank to fall back on atm

BO can be king of PVE as Main tank.
+50% channeling block skill, morale pump from block, buffing party for resists and near to 1000 of armor.
160 wounds tactic.
Party bubble on hit.
